Unusual Crosses

Recommended Posts

Years ago at Harrington Lurcher Show a guy had a Standard Poodle x Greyhound. I don't think it was ever worked but looked the part for day time use. Aggressive bloody thing was trying to attack anything in sight. Looked like a giant Bedlington Saluki type of cross.

Strange that eh? Almost every standard poodle I've seen has been very aggressive, far more than many other 'supposed' aggressive breeds. Mind you, saying that, I suppose in the dog you're on about, the agression could've come from the greyhound, who knows? Just musing to myself really lol

A couple of collie/greyhounds I've seen were pretty unusual. They would've given most people a nervous breakdown!

my sister had a pure standard poodle, and that was sharp with people, a bloke who kept a pub, had 2 males and both were very good guard dogs, i think it comes from the s/p temp being nasty, and there a fair size dog to get bitten from. most greyhounds have nice temps in general

Next time you see an aggressive Poodle let it see something aggressive and then make up your mind whether they're worthy of breeding workers from.

Someone was on here a few years ago boasting about the great poodle crosses he was going to shut up everyone with.

He must have immigrated because he never came back.

Mr Cuban

Years ago i lived near a woman had toy poodle that was an aggressive little shite, my own dog has growled at other dogs ,but when chased by a springer was running away with her tail between her legs. I think they can be snappy like the russell terriers were when I was a kid,but once stood up to by another dog, they piss theirselves.

Was just saying the ones I've seen were very aggressive, and they were, not whether they're worthy of being bred from

There's a neighbour of mine who has an aggressive cat. Aggressive in that it takes the fight to it's opponent. It fight's other cats and chases dogs. I've seen a Staff barking at it as it sat a couple of foot from the Staffs nose.

I walked my terrier, Dixie, a while back past it's home and I forgot about the cat and they had an arguement. Dixie was loose and ended up chasing the cat away.

Dixie's nearly 15, going blind and has very few teeth.

I once had a cat come screaming out of a garden to attach itself to my bandogs face, a swift kick from me sent it flying back over the garden wall only for it to come running straight back at us! :icon_eek: Another, harder kick to the ribs and it ran under a hedge and sat there watching us leave.

I'd say that cat was pretty game for a cat
