Verdict On Landrover Freelander Td4 2005

Recommended Posts

Need to replace my L200. The L200 was classed as a commercial were I am, so plan on getting something more car derived. this freelander hads come up, so.. I dont want to go off roading for the hell of it and mud plugging as a hobby, its more going for going across fields and down green lanes carting terriers and gear about. So, verdicts please. Is there enough space for terrier box spades bar etc.

Its a 2ltr. Is it going to be better consumption than a l200 (2003) 2.5

dont bother with a landrover mate, they are all crap, terrible motors, stick to a jap 4x4 more reliable more comfort and a much better motor,

Why the F**k did they stop making the Fourtrak?? I owned 5 and even used one as a poor mans tractor on a smallholding, absolutely brilliant I worked it hard and bits kept falling off and still it star

The early petrol engines on the Freelanders are well known for blowing head gaskets, so be careful..

I do fancy (& always have) the forester, the legacy was a good motor back in my lamping days. Trouble is... Im limited choice, can come back to uk and buy one and then re-register it over here, but id be buying blind/unknown. Plus the time and marigmarole. :hmm:

  • 6 months later...

Going to have a look at this tomorrow.

Freelander TD4 GS 2001 1800euros 126,000 miles

Bloke is a proper mechanic, he originally worked on the car sorting out the clutch for the owner, owner couldnt pay his bill so mechanic bought car, he reckons he has run it for 6 months and will give a 3month warranty with it. Loads of history/receipts he did mention prop?! or something
