Not dug too one but there is one up this way that has been going strong for 3 years has too be the smartest fox I've ever met I've gave up trying too get him I don't have enuf fingers too count the times he has escaped and evaded us he has been shot at 4 times hunted with hounds 3 times and lamped for a whole season chasing him over hills and threw woods he just seems too pop up every now and then he is a sneaky little b*****d and knows the area better then any off us I know of one lad has tried chasing him on a quad trying too catch him

The only thing I hate too see and IMO there's no coming back from is mange, it's ruthless and a cruel way to go

Had a few over the years I will look out some pics .....years ago bolted a vixen I'm sure WILF was there with fat Dillon to a chocolate bitch called Tilly ....went down to see the farmer and one of the lads from the shoot syndicate was there and said he had shot a big dog fox in the back leg .....I wasn't very happy that the lad hadn't done more to finish it off and told the farmer who had 35000 free range chickens ...that this will turn into a live stock killer if it survives ......sure enough that winter they started loosing chickens and I got it one night ....it was in a bad way and its stump had been dragging on the frozen ground .....still amazed me how it managed to survive for so long

:laugh: Brilliant, sure that fox will live on for years in tales told about him around your area. What a legend, you have to respect that will to survive.
