It's coal dust and cement made into briquettes usually % coal dust and 20% cement a lot cheaper than coal and gives good heat and last for ages. kanny 21,657 Posted November 3, 2015 Report Share Posted November 3, 2015 I just throw the odd big chunk of ordinary coal on with mostly wood it's plenty...coal will hammer your burners regardless of type and it's getting harder to find quality replacement cast grates baffle plates ect.
