Theres not much difference if any on the cost be it Ped or non Ped

That's not been my experience.

Even before the price explosion for puppies, ped whippets were at least 2-3 times the cost of non-peds.

Non-peds racers seem to be the only breed that hasn't been taken over by the pedlars. There's very few well bred litters being bred due the racing being suspended .

The usual prices for non-peds was between £150-£300, far below the price of KC whippets, and a lot were given away to people in the game.

Cheers.

Good to hear some conversation regarding Whippets...? When I first came South from my native Wales, we settled in Portsmouth... There was a long tradition of poaching/mouching style of roust

Had great times with her, i never came home empty handed, and never took more than i needed

people define game in different ways. I call it driven. a game little rabbit dog, one with plenty of drive will work nettles, brambles, gorse, etc. when right on it's rabbit heading for cover it won't

Fair comment but take a look on that site I just posted and you can see the sort of money being asked and in some cases there isnt much difference . Does anyone still give away Dogs of any kind nowadays ? I remember there was a time when websites like Gumtree were full of the obligatory " Staffy free to a good home " adverts , oh for the good old days .

There's a lad on here who, along with his family, owned some of the fastest non-peds ever to grace a track.

Twice within recent years he offered to gift me a pup.

Not long ago I was gifted a Teckel pup by another member on here., they sell for stupid money.

Another member on here offered me a pup bred from his Beddy/grey, again for free.

Theres still a lot of people who would rather gift a pup to like minded people, than be in it just for the money.

Cheers.

Ive got to admit I would be a bit wary working a Whippet over broken ground , how much thats down to the old man racing Greyhounds back in the Seventies I dont know .

Just get them out running through scrub as soon as they can follow.

I am sure it’s no secret it’s a chap called Paul Waddington. I was going to have a pup and had a nice chat with him on the phone seemed genuine but didn’t work out in the end.

About 2 years ago he also bred a litter of russell/whippets.On the site it states no more whippets were being bred after 2016.
