There was post on here about giving money to beggers do u give money to charity as I don't understand how these large charity's is a non profite oragnastion and lady's work in there shops as volunteers yet bosses of charity drive bentleys etc so how much money actual goes to the intended folk ?

Feck giving to most big charities, you're just paying towards a fat pay packet for the CEO and cushy jobs for all his friends kids when they finish university

 

There's a really good website that rates charities based on things like top brass pay etc, does really indepth breakdowns of where the money goes. Can't remember the address right now but will chuck a link up on here when I find it

wow didn't think it was as little as 12 percent and all the tax relief charity's get but what gets my goat is that this goverment gives aid to other countries while our ex armed service personnel that was injured as a result that goverment force to go over there because of oil or have some resource we want and the get hurt etc in line of duty and get nowt kicked off and disable benfits to give to non uk residents coin I know a guy stood on a land mine only has feeling on one side and has no legs and pisses in a bag goverment say he can work what a f***ing joke Edited August 26, 2015 by Hunting loon

Its the same all over the country the amount of homeless people that are ex service men is a disgrace we should look closer to home before we start semding millions of pounds over seas.

i stupidly gave a monthly donation to greenpeace,thinking oh well they care about the planet,i wouldnt mind it going on a bit longer for the future generations.

What really pee'd me off with them was the phone calls ,emails ....."could you possibly give more?" Cheeky fcukers! They were really persistent as well !Have since found out what a big scam they are anyway ,so no longer getting my dosh!

I'm not a particularly charitable person but I give a little to St Johns. Something about teaching kids first aid at schools seemed good to me.

 

Charities are just businesses that benefit a cause rather than shareholders. Why should they have a second rate C-suite as a product of shit salaries? If the charity wants to operate optimally then it has to pay competitive salaries to it's staff. Knock the CEO's salary down to a basic living wage and see how well the charity does then! LOL

 

Second rate salaries attract second rate staff..... not a good business model.

We used to give money to a few selected charities, but I was not happy that enough of the money gets to those who actually need it so stopped. My wife still spends loads on stuff from charity shops that we don't really need though!

What does my head in about charities is it's all on there terms, as in you have to give a certain amount weather that's the 5 pound a month like the ones you see on the tv commercials or when I looked into doin some sort of private challenge I'd have to get atleast 2 or 3 grand it put me off I mean I don't know what I could of raised but say I got a grand surly a charity be happy with that than nothin so why a specific amount, would just be to much hassle n pressure n then if any sponcers let you down it's gota come outa your picket etc so havnt botherd were as IMO it should be what ever people can manage n afford as surly every thing helps big or small..

Whats the old saying about charity beginning at home.........look after your family/friends/local community.........if everybody did that what would be the need for massive charity groups and royal organisations...........community spirit go,s a long way.

The ones that piss me off are the ones that come knocking on your door when you done a days work and just sat down to eat your tea and start blagging for your bank card details on your door step no chance. Im not that tight and do abit of stuff for charity but I aint being made to feel guilty by someone whos getting paid out of it.
