zigzag dan 784
Each life sentence gets a tariff , I know a lad who got life with a 2 year tariff it was to keep him on license for his life , if you get a 20 year recommended they don't even get your file out till the 20 is up , all depends on your behaviour in prison etc . TAXI DRIVER 550
A lad I was in school with killed an old lady with his bird.He never admitted it and is still inside. If he`d have admitted it he`d of been out on licence years ago.
WILF 49,892
Isn't the whole life tariff being challenged in the ECHR ? It's very unusual to get handed a whole life tariff I am led to believe. The short anwser is, I don't think there is any set rule.....just a set of loose guidelines.
peterhunter86 8,627
In some case's I'd say it depends on if it's premeditated or a stupid drunken argument that got out of hand I've to mate's doing life one for a gangland killing an the other for stabbing a fella I reckon the fella in for the stabbing will be out long before the other fella

Same here, a family friend was given life for killing his girlfriend that was over thirty years ago, he will not admit that he done it, so as far as I know he is still inside. I was at his mothers funeral about 10 years ago and he was there walking with the help of a zimmer frame and handcuffed to two warders. He really has served a life sentence. Tiercel 6,986
my word what awfully rough company some of you chaps keep Gnash it's not only the smoke that has it's share of bad boys. There was a chap living 3 doors away from us who killed his mother with the leg of a chair, he only served 7 years of a life sentence. When he kicked off the street would be filled with riot vans. Then they would send the smallest police woman in to get him and he would come out like a lamb. TC
