ftm 3,357
hi lads wife wanted to know what all the fuss was about [squirrel shooting] so i sorted a day out with keeper and after driving through 3-4 inches of snow we arrived at my permission without as much as a drop in site! i brought the dogs even though i knew they would hamper my chances of a decent bag as they are full on working spaniels. it wasnt long before we spotted one bouncing away from us high up in spruce trees but to far to get near ,i missed one shortly after that but made up for it with a nice bandit that was stuck up tree we saw a few more that dogs had spooked [i knew i should have left them at home lol] we walked a few more woods and then 3 legged it away from a feeder with dogs in hot pursuit! i pinpointed one out and the wife kept an eye out on others -i JUST had to show her what all this "fuss" was about and was glad to see 1st one bouncing off branches as it fell to the deck -dogs are ordered to leave it and i walked to where other had hidden and was glad to see two huddled together 40yds away so i walked to a nice clearing and placing scope on one squirrels chest area i squeezed trigger and it just slumped forward and dropped like a stone the other one climbed as high as it could possibly get but i was on a roll now lads and 1st shot missed but 2nd one didnt so 3 in the bag , i turned to the wife and said thats what all the fuss is about lol she loved every minute of it and cant wait for next time -billy 5 Quote Link to post

vizlauk 1,568
Well done on the shooting & getting the wife to join you, if I could convince my wife to tag along shooting with me, she would make as much noise as possible to scare the targets away, then start an argument saying I'm cruel, then more than likely try to report me to someone ! Some folk have it easy lol 1 Quote Link to post
