I remember when the shoulder charge was a legitimate part of the game, now you'd be red carded for it. The old style English centre forward no longer exists, Shearer was probably the last one, Carrol could have been one, but injuries and teams style of play mean he never will be. Characters like Vinny, Gazza, etc no longer exist, Joey Barton was probably the last character in the game. Managers are now simply tacticians, Cloughie was the last of his kind, Mourino is a sanitised version. It's hard to work up any excitement about football these days; too commercialised, players and managers with no connection or loyalty to the club, owners who see the club just as a business , dull, no-contact play; I'd rather watch snooker or darts these days. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I know what you mean mate by the letter of the law he should be bang in trouble......just all getting a bit silly now aint it...... I dont go in for all this " watch the rugby lads " like Max said....rugby is a completely different game totally irrelevant to football ive never seen football as a macho game of whos the toughest id rather watch Lionel Messi than Vinnie Jones any day of the week but even so a grown man and pro athlete should be able to compete without trying to get his opponent in trouble all the time.....and its something nobody likes to see. Which one !!....the day was full of disastrous incidents from the minute we set out......from people getting killed on the motorways,to 500 of our fans not being allowed in the ground due to being late,to starting fights with West Brom fans,to starting fights with each other.........to a football match where the players didnt turn up,a manager who brings off a forward and puts on a defender when his sides 3 nil down.....a useless c**t like Nolan whos like a 9 year old that gets the captaincy because his dads the manager.....a useless c**t like Downing who spends difficult games hiding like a mouse frightened to come out in the open,a silly foreign c**t who comes off the bench and clumps someone because they tackled him........6000 fans we took up to watch this embarrassing shit.....and we thought the Fa Cup couldnt get any worse than a 5 nil loss to Notts Forest last year !!.......From top to bottom the club was a shambles today. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
