bird 10,014 Posted November 21, 2013 Report Share Posted November 21, 2013 Why the heat lamp Which dog do you think will recover quicker after work the one chucked in a kennel curls up shivvering its meal off all night or the one stretched right out under the heat lamp ??? only use the heat lamp if they been lamping, as above it helps stop the stiffness plus i towel them down massage start+ finish of the night But thats it regards the heat lamp, my 2 have good thick coats so handle the cold quite good, and they got shredded wax paper they make nice nest in it, if bring them in for a hour there panting and seem restless . but when they get old 11 -14 year old prob live the heat lamp on for them .! I use heat lamps all winter for dogs without good jackets like Greyhounds. Treat em like heroes even when theyre shit. Thats what I say. Quote Link to post

Thats what I say. mine are removable planks with the first one with the end board on, screwed down, makes cleaning and disinfecting simple, bedboards really need to be higher than the entrance hole if that makes sense, i also have hessian sacking over the entrance to cut down drafts, damp and drafts are far worse than the cold, Quote Link to post
