they have a choice to pay what they can. could you survive on 57 quid a week even if part of your rent was paid :hmm:it wouldn't even cover my utilities never mind food

I could if I got the rest of the trimmings that go with it for serial work swervers

Rent paid for

Council tax credit

Yeh at first glance ,, it looks like a good idea,,, but would it take away a real job of somone else?...... Or is it like getting comunity service for a crime,,,, in wich case it's kind of wrong again

not all do.but its good to see the tory propaganda machine is in overdrive here, and blaming all the countries woes on the poor. sad really. we seem to have compassion for every starving coon in some o

You try finding a job as it stands today! I'm looking local and UK wide and still nothing, I'm a hard working lad, decent education, well mannered etc and learn quickly with plenty to give a company a

What will they judge to be long-term.A new immigrant or some one who has been out of work for two years. ?

For me, both

just a question, how much is this going to add to the benifit bill given those organising and implementing it will not be doing it for free, then theres the small matter those signing on are signing to say they are actively seeking work, something that would be hard to do if you're working for nothing in poundland  its all bollocks to raise party profiles at these conferences, when universal credit is introduced in 2017 job seekers will be expected to be searching for work for 35hours a week and be able to prove it, theres even talk of them attending job clubs for all these 35hours, all sounds wonderful but the amount paid out to job seekers is probably less than the annual mp`s entertainment bill, kick the less well off a game every tory likes to play :laugh::laugh:

35 hours at job club, or 35 hours in a full time job. As long as they're out of bed before dinner and doing something, then I couldn't give a f**k who's pulling the strings

but it will double or triple the benefit bill and i thought the idea was to reduce it  well the jobseekers element

When they started the back to work scheme in 2012, where folk claiming had to do a work placement, 150,000 signed off? if this new thing gets rid of the scammers, and leaves only those that need help, then I'm all for it

but my point is that could be done now at jobcentre level, easy after 2 years no benefits, but universal credit will be administered by the tax office and will be the only available benefit, so all these other civil servants will be added to the dole que

I like the 2 year no benefits idea even better :D

Iam skint anyway.New grandson tuesday night.Thats six.Little begers bleed me dry.

and how many people get all this? ok the baby factory's on jermy kyle get them, but what about the disabled people how CANT work but want to work? like my dad he is f****d he cant stand for more than a houre a day he cant drive for more than a couple of hours a day and he cant sit down for for more than 30 mins he has to get up and walk about. he had a massive car crash about 15 years back and as he says he would love a job but theirs very little he can do! for the last 6 months he has had about £60 a week to live on and rent has backed up to something crazy! add bedroom tax and councle tax and the new gas meter that the rate is unreal and the poor b*****d loved his work and has a wealth of knowlage about all kinds of trades! he would love nothing more than to work untill he dies but cant and it eats him up ime the same i now live at home now after redundancy, with my mentaly disabled mam and 13 year old brother!and all 3 go to counseling due to stress and depression! i would honestly say we are below the poverty line! i have just started to sing on and give all of it to my parents, i would love to know how thease people you hear about with massive houses and 50k a year on benefits do it because i would be doing the same!

if it was not for me catching game and fish we would have gone hungry a lot

and yet thru all this he still dose as much volentary work as he can my mam works in a oxfam shop 5 days a week and dad dose pickups for the shop the odd garden for folk and takes a couple of OAPs from the village shopping every week to give back, he has run youth clubs at the school as good a people as you could wish for and the system is killing them

turning to crime ha, its ok until it goes wrong

Ive worked and paid in for 31yrs , if I needed to sign on and ended up out of work for 2yrs why should I be made to work unpaid as though I need to be punished ? The benefit system could be sorted out overnight , stop giving to immigrants , make it that you should have paid in for 2 years before you can sign on , we are a small country who is over populated , theres too many people , too few jobs , houses and resources .

You'd think with all the money we dump, into this system, they'd have a way of being able to sift through and help the genuine cases.

It looks great as a sound bite but it sure, as f**k, doesn't help the people that need it. Only those that want it.
