I don't know exactly what do you mean by "mix", it means to bite ? If it means to bite, they are more barkers than mixers. Betty, the left one on the pic, is my best jack (10 badgers in 5 hunts this

Sad day.
Dig out for young, reserved.
My sons and friends took dogs and tools. The elderly stay at home.
Hopefully, just one or twice during the season.

How did they do Blaise, did they catch??

The weather wasn't good, hail, rain and snow, wind.
One badger in the morning with a young black dog, very good.
Another badger at the night, more difficult, with a black bitch. Very courageous dog.

These are three terriers of my kennel. They are waiting with my daughter for boar hunting. These dogs aren't very good on boar but they like freedom in woods during few hours.

Do they drop to ground much when hunting boar blaise?

I have to be cautious, I try to avoid passing near badger setts
Most of problems are in december when Foxes are in heat. Foxes walk around holes and they go to ground immediately.
Few years ago, I dug 2 foxes with my knife and a wooden stick. I had no more tools.

We don't kill an animal in the hole. We catch the quarry without wound it. So here, we are using special tongs : the largest for the body, the little one for paws. They are made to be safe.
At the end we can release the badger or dispatch it outside the terrier.

The long pipe is our phone.
During the hunt, we hear the dog barking with. This pipe is introduced in the hole. It's used to speak at the dog too.
We use it in two other ways.
When you need to collapse near the dog (sand for example), first you introduce the pipe, so your dog has some air.
Last way, at the end, when the dog is attached at the leash and badger stayed at the end of the tunnel. We tickle the badger with the pipe. Usually, badger goes out (50% success).

How long is it.

Is it flexible.

What is it made of.
