I've got to say that bread was a piece of piss.

No more shop bought crap for me ;)

I think men have been conned into thinking that cooking is complicated and hard work for years now by millions of women

Made my first Paella today, turned out lovely :D

Reckon my signature is a roast meat casserole with red wine and gravy sauce and Roasted vegetables (parsnips here are shite but they do)

My two favourite meats to use in this dish are lamb and venison.

I like cooking, always have, but I hate dishes and general clearing away... That's where the wife and my eldest girl step in.

Cooked Tandori lamb with the left overs of Sundays leg and Thai prawn curry on Tuesday.. another is prawn and chorizo linguine

My wife's parents can't believe what she eats now, she'll try most things when I first met her it was crispy pancakes and smiley faces, I thought she was taking the piss.. Lol

I do a fair bit of cooking, just started making my own bread too. I worked as a kind of 2nd chef type role in a small Italian restaurant when I was in my late teens for a few years, I used to love it. I learnt a fair bit by having to do a load of prep and make starters, my mushroom slicing speed is the stuff of legend! Because it was a small place, I often had time to watch the chef, and he was happy to talk the about the food as he cooked and let me learn. He always told me he would teach me properly one day and it was probably the happiest I've ever been in a job but the money just wasn't there and I had a kid at a young age and had to get something that paid better. :( I was also catering supervisor at 21 in a local holiday complex and ran a small pizza parlour for a few months!

I can cook most things but I enjoy cooking Italian stuff the most. The wife is a very good cook, works as a school cook now but used to cook in a few pubs in Aberdeen when she was up there. We both enjoy cooking and while we often argue about techniques and recipes with both of us being taught to do things in different ways, we've also learnt a lot from each other. She's a lot better than me at the more traditional cooking like roasts, steaks, etc, but I think I have the edge when it comes to things like curries, pasta dishes and chillies.
