my old dog pre ban looks near enough a pure greyhound 26 inch as fast as fuk used to nail them single handed all day long she seemed to hate them with a passwion but anything with teeth she would run a mile

Me myself i dont think theres a certain lurcher for taking deer pre ban of course from what ive learnt if you give the dog good schooling i think its in most running dogs to tackle a roe or munty or fallow, ok a full grown fallow buck is a bit of a challenge to some dogs but apart from that i think its either in the dog or it isnt

I heard of a bitch from way back that had probably around 700 roe in her carreer and not one had a mark on the carcass thats what I would class as a venison lurcher but then again I didnt see it with my own eyes so probably just a myth

ok if you where to breed a litter of consistant venison lurchers , i mean that being 90% of what there catching what would use .

 

id like your thoughts on hights and builds of animals that have or would excell at this . including a pair of bitches that could work togeather.

but there not for rabbits etc
