at first when they were pups had them in the house with back door open all day, then i read in a lurcher book that kennel kept lurchers made better workers,so i got a kennel with run.I put the dogs in there during the day but brought them in at night. Before i put the pups in kennel they were almost house trained. But at night they started pissing all over in the kitchen,no matter how many times i got up to let them out. Then it dawned on me the kennel to them was no different to the kitchen, the kitchen to them was a night kennel. So now i only put them in the kennel if i go out all day or we need a break from each other.

That's how I potty trainned my litter. I had a carpeted area and lino area with wee pad on it. They did learn the difference right away. Lino did have all the "accidents" on it.

Kennel all year round. Inside if ill or injured.   FTB

Mine sleeps in the dining room at night. Wash down after been out then the downstairs it his.

Next door has his lurcher in a kennel(too small) and the bloody thing never shuts up.

Over the back fence nabour has his 8 labs in a big kennel and run (silent) just shows you how much difference space makes.

I do the same: I like to have my dogs around me, though one half of the house is a 'dogfree' zone LOL Means that they have the kitchen, utility room and what might in normal houses be a sitting room but its really a dog room full of sofas LOL
