  1. Both my dogs are pets that have zero hunting experience . I did think maybe my little one might be a option as shes far more obedient than the other big lump i got . Shes 2 1/2 now and as i said had zero experience . Thought it might be a little late to train her . If i get into ferreting i would be learning myself as im doing it and would also have to teach her which might become a bit of a clusterfuck in the field . Its a thought tho . Im sure she'd learn pretty quick and would love to have a reason to take a dog out with me . Id have to use her just for marking tho i think . Again trying to
  2. How does the land you work effect your choices ? Some ferrets are better at working in different conditions compared to other ferrets, for example not every ferret will work wonders in a massive and deep warren but will be perfect for smaller ones. And if you're ferreting where digging is difficult and it's a big warren then you're more likely to use a ferret who doesn't kill often, if at all. If ferreting in an area where there's lots of shrubs and bushes then a lighter coloured ferret is more likely to be used due to it being easier to spot in the bushes. Isnt that more personality and colo

  5. just for the record i wasnt questioning the blokes time spent handling the ferrets or his knowledge on them . I dont own any myself , im thinking about getting some andjjust assumed id need to have them in my hand for a hour a day roughly .
  6. I see most of you on here with the ferrets have a dog that marks active holes for you . If you dont have a dog with you is there anything you look for . Or is it a case of try each warren you find just in case
  7. Your little girl is a diamond . Sure ive seen her on here before in your pictures. Mines the same when i go check my traps . Game as anything . Dont know if its a different in the sexes as kids but mines a little "helper" . Wants to help me with anything , dishes , hoovering , baiting traps , collecting foliage to go over traps etc . My boy will do it but has to be forced to . Hes to busy chasing aliens around or being a pirate .
  8. Is 20 mins enough for a day? I was under the asumption youd have to handle them for a good hour

  11. Total tits. If they were doing to to friends I'd be all up for it and would give it a go myself . But to unsuspecting people with kids in tow while holding a knife is horrible. Problem now is that because it's been publicised that they have been tooled up any sighting by anybody they will automatically assume theyr tooled up. In the papers today a mother was in a car with her kids when they came close and started stairing and climbing on the car. I seeth inside imagining if my Mrs came home with my little kids red faced and crying cuddling my leg because some div decided to do that to
  12. I'm no dog expert by a long shot but why the f**k would they have timidity as part of a breed standard
  13. Mrs wants to go with the kids . When her parents split up when she was young her mum took her and she still talks about it . Was a huge part of her childhood. Going to go Paris but that's still stupid stupid price . Don't want to go just yet after all the shit in France recently tho

  17. bollix, I know exactly what it is, easy for the blm activists crying about being taken into slavery, well they're free since slavery was abolished and how many took they're right to return home???, prob none. Why? Because Europeans showed them a better way of life Free since slavery was abolished? If they were slaves I'd agree but if they were born in America then surely America is their home
  18. My dad's had towy and teifi aswell after the rivers Funnily enough some names go with females and some go with males. Yet I have always thought of rivers as being female. I have one here now called Cynon, which to me is a masculine name. If the next was a bitch she would be Mellte which I think is feminine. TC Bran is a good male name . Also gelert after the famous dog Bran after Crow brook/ Nant Bran in Brecon. Daughter had a Gelert. What's the name of the stream by the stagecoach crash monument in Llandovery? Had a few fish out of there. TC Think its the river gwydderig . You

  21. What's the reason you chose or choose your animals names? I called our white dog after a character in a film but my dad has had a name he periodically calls his collies . Think he's on his 3rd one called meg now . But they all have different variations of it . The two I remember were "auntie meg" and the current dog "meg the egg" . Kids called her that
