    I agree in principal but got to play devils advocate and say what if it was outstanding in one department, ie 5/5 hares or rab's on the lamp? Cheers, D. never personally owned a lurcher that could catch 3/3 daytime hares or one that's had rabbits a night but would have no problem feeding one that would die trying. .ab dc

    I would think more of a dog that pulled on the slip/ran it's quarry and had a go (even if you got to get in and give it a hand)than one that point blank refuses-we can all over look bad habits like shit retrieving/jumping but never ever lack of gameness/prey drive(or a dog that likes the taste of stock no matter how good it was at a job)A dog has to have heart imo.and I wouldn't keep any dog, that was good for only one thing-I don't have the space or head for chopping and changing dogs. 1 for this and 1 for that-Im not a fan of specialist dogs lol..atb dc

    Nice fish arch mate-off out this evening for a few hours.went last night and on the way home the back lights on my truck kept popping fuses-must of put 6 in and they kept popping after a few minutes lol.the wiring gremlins were on form .

    if I'm not mistaken Neil likes to give his dogs an hour before he digs,isn't that right Neilpal we all work a different type of dog/terrain -in the name of pest control.I for one won't knock another man for the type of dog he chooses to use to get the job done(earthwork).so long as it's one at a time ,I would feed a dog that could be called out in a tricky spot-but never one that rabbits.as always an interesting thread is f****d up because a few who have no experience of the subject feel the need to start chatting shit to score points-who really gives a rats arse what folk on here get up too?

    I like to give the dog at least 30/40 minutes to get up to its quarry and settle before I think about starting to dig.roll a fag and have a brew.I've been out with a few speed diggers lol-holes end up coned like a cornetto.takes longer to open up tidy than it does to get down to the mark.     Ive said in the other thread mate I will get a bellman but don't see how that would of helped me here. She had f****d off on a long line on a huge expanse of ground and could of been anywhere. You need to know what set she is in really for a locator surely? unless you know where every set is within a 5 mile radius and check them all...when you own terriers gaz-you should know every hole on the ground mate,just because the dog is a busher don't mean it won't drop in.your lucky she didn't dig on to tight and run out of air.madness running any terrier loose with out a collar on imo.I'm glad you g
