  3. So on that note all working dogs should be tested early to see if their worth keepin , And if your disappointed with a pups effort of wanting it ?? Where do ya go from there not looking for an argument pal-it's ether fit for the purpose or not-the op has had success with starting others the same way and is no young chav-if it works for him then who am I to knock him? 2 poxy rabbits I smell a whiff of jealousy lol-if most on here got out with their dogs then they may catch a few themselves;).not as if he got a long list of failed dogs that he's peddled on lol.you will all still be on here bitc
  4. I agree in principal but got to play devils advocate and say what if it was outstanding in one department, ie 5/5 hares or rab's on the lamp? Cheers, D. never personally owned a lurcher that could catch 3/3 daytime hares or one that's had rabbits a night but would have no problem feeding one that would die trying. .ab dc
  5. I would think more of a dog that pulled on the slip/ran it's quarry and had a go (even if you got to get in and give it a hand)than one that point blank refuses-we can all over look bad habits like shit retrieving/jumping but never ever lack of gameness/prey drive(or a dog that likes the taste of stock no matter how good it was at a job)A dog has to have heart imo.and I wouldn't keep any dog, that was good for only one thing-I don't have the space or head for chopping and changing dogs. 1 for this and 1 for that-Im not a fan of specialist dogs lol..atb dc
  6. A dog be it a terrier or lurcher ether wants it or not in my opinion -no amount of feeding, exercise or holding back is going to polish a turd.atb dc
  7. A lurcher should be every calibre of bullet you should ever need imo-a dog that only does one thing is about as useful as having brewers droop in a brothel.atb dc
  8. Get a buffallo smock-had mine 5/6 seasons-good enough for our armed forces,good enough for me.atb dc
  9. He is one funny oldman have you in stitches with laughter.atb dc

  12. Fairplay to you getting out gaz-most would leave dogs in the kennel-wish you a speedy recovery pal.can't beat a loyal mutt ;)you show my old brindle bitch a ferret/lamp or slip lead and so be gone lol.atb dc
  13. Nice fish arch mate-off out this evening for a few hours.went last night and on the way home the back lights on my truck kept popping fuses-must of put 6 in and they kept popping after a few minutes lol.the wiring gremlins were on form .
  14. if I'm not mistaken Neil likes to give his dogs an hour before he digs, isn't that right Neilpal we all work a different type of dog/terrain -in the name of pest control.I for one won't knock another man for the type of dog he chooses to use to get the job done(earthwork).so long as it's one at a time ,I would feed a dog that could be called out in a tricky spot-but never one that rabbits.as always an interesting thread is f****d up because a few who have no experience of the subject feel the need to start chatting shit to score points-who really gives a rats arse what folk on here get up too?
  15. be my old girls last season, she still handy around the nets and the odd night on the lamp.shame they got to get old, just hope my pup steps up to the plate.atb dc

  17. Looking at the old pics of buck and Co they must of had some balls to be blasting down through rocks and lowering men down into the cracks.atb dc
  18. I like to give the dog at least 30/40 minutes to get up to its quarry and settle before I think about starting to dig.roll a fag and have a brew.I've been out with a few speed diggers lol-holes end up coned like a cornetto.takes longer to open up tidy than it does to get down to the mark. Atb dc
  19. They all work off the same frequency pal.atb dc
  20. Unfortunately not anymore over here.atb dc
  21. Ive said in the other thread mate I will get a bellman but don't see how that would of helped me here. She had f****d off on a long line on a huge expanse of ground and could of been anywhere. You need to know what set she is in really for a locator surely? unless you know where every set is within a 5 mile radius and check them all...when you own terriers gaz-you should know every hole on the ground mate, just because the dog is a busher don't mean it won't drop in.your lucky she didn't dig on to tight and run out of air.madness running any terrier loose with out a collar on imo.I'm glad you g
  22. They have to run them now especially the bitches because they will be lined at their first season.you talk some shit-how come there's tons of coursing bred shit up for sale at 9 months of age?same as the wankers with the greyhounds, none of you slippery fuckers could lie straight in bed-people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones .they may well of been squatters so no harm done imo.do you slate folk who have their pups out ferretting from 3 m old?atb dc I am not accountable for tons of dogs only my own and experts such as yourself shouldnt spout unless you are knowledgeable. I know who,s ta
