    I won a goldfish in a little plastic bag at Goose Fair when I was 6 or 7 - it lived happily on my grandads kitchen until I was 15 or so....... myself and my two brothers won goldfish at a fair around 88- my brothers never lasted a 12 month mine I put in my nanna s pond-it was still there around 15 yrs later when I was asked to fill it in and slab over it ..atb dc

    Times have moved on since the old boys times! And for the better too! At 0.5 you should be able to find a dog work thru sound alonenot every dog/bitch makes a noise-dug under roots/shale may times and can't hear the dog when it's gob is full and it has the upper hand on the quarry-Ive seen a few speed diggers damage the dog and one lad take the front legs off a terrier with a shovel when breaking through and ruin another man's lifes work.some folk are in to much of a rush imo.I can tell by certain replies who I would share the banjo with on here (struggle to fill one hand lol)one of the reason

    I got her from an old boy,he has had the line for 30 odd yrs and never put bull into them.or so he told me lol-she's from a long line of proven hunt terriers-I don't care if she got sausage dog in her so long as she stays and can do a shift she will be fed.atb dc

    Corona lemonade ,chips cooked in beef fat from a mobile chippy that was a comma van. there an old boy down in Bettws where my nan lives still has a mobile shop in a van- lay away xmas and easter stuff. Loved the 80's listening to nwa on a cassette Walkman shouting f**k the police!     She's turned into a fair lump Dan, mines is 8 months old now still really small with a wee peanut head an full off beans hopefully she comes in handy time will tell to be honest I was panicking abit as she's nearly double the size of my little patt bitches -I will try her when I think she's ready and see how she goes.she may struggle in the rabbitty spots but fingers crossed she will be of some use to me .thanks for the comments lads.atb dc

    Last few weeks I been feeding chilli hemp in the 2oz maggot feeders and for hookbaits 2 x 20 mm halibut pellets on the one rod and spicy shrimp bollies on the other.could do with some rain to lift the water levels up as they a bit cagey -not having much really until a good hr into darkness.if I don't get out this evening then I will be out for a few hours Tuesday evening.tight lines buddy..atb dc

    So on that note all working dogs should be tested early to see if their worth keepin , And if your disappointed with a pups effort of wanting it ?? Where do ya go from there not looking for an argument pal-it's ether fit for the purpose or not-the op has had success with starting others the same way and is no young chav-if it works for him then who am I to knock him? 2 poxy rabbits I smell a whiff of jealousy lol-if most on here got out with their dogs then they may catch a few themselves;).not as if he got a long list of failed dogs that he's peddled on lol.you will all still be on here bitc

    I agree in principal but got to play devils advocate and say what if it was outstanding in one department, ie 5/5 hares or rab's on the lamp? Cheers, D. never personally owned a lurcher that could catch 3/3 daytime hares or one that's had rabbits a night but would have no problem feeding one that would die trying. .ab dc

    I would think more of a dog that pulled on the slip/ran it's quarry and had a go (even if you got to get in and give it a hand)than one that point blank refuses-we can all over look bad habits like shit retrieving/jumping but never ever lack of gameness/prey drive(or a dog that likes the taste of stock no matter how good it was at a job)A dog has to have heart imo.and I wouldn't keep any dog, that was good for only one thing-I don't have the space or head for chopping and changing dogs. 1 for this and 1 for that-Im not a fan of specialist dogs lol..atb dc
