I struggled on Sunday sat on the river bank...was that hot I reeled in the rods around 3 pm,stripped down to my shorts,had a swim for half HR,went to the van and cooked lunch,then put the rods back out at 8 o'clock when it cooled down a bit...got a tree job tomorrow ,try and get as much done as possible before 2/3 pm both days.. I've been off for 5 weeks, working in my house,I don't plan on going back to sites to work,most of my tickets run out September time...I won't be renewing any of them

  8. Foster daughter gave birth to a little boy last night, wasn't an easy one ,but both are doing brilliantly....so I've sloped off for a few hrs fishing

  12. You can pick up a secondhand one from around £300/£500..I would stay way from the thumbhole stocks ,as they crack)split,I swapped the stock on my old sirocco to a thumbhole,big mistake

At one time I owned both a theoban sirocco 22 and a Prosport 22 , regret moving those 2 on,killed some gear with them...few bob too find another pair

Below me is £180 per year and you have to be vetted and vouched for, opposite me is £200 plus,shit access and parking,you have a 1/2 mile walk with your kit,above me is £380 per yr and a 5 yr waiting list... because it's where they filmed the great rod race etc and all the celebrities fish it,Bob and Paul and Ted the Patterdale,Carl and Alex,Ali Hamid,Dean Macey,all the Korda lads Spooner Tom Dove,met them all over the yrs and enjoyed the craic If you get bored fishing,then there's untold game you can watch or drop with a dog lol...it's been my own personal playground for years to do a
  18. £50 a year is peanuts for the amount of fishing at their disposal,nothing when a day ticket is £10/£25 the last 20 years,I myself personally have maintained,strimmed and renewed every f***ing swim along the Wye,monnow,throthy etc..or no cnut,young or old can even walk the banks....most the old boys in the club,only give a f**k about their estate lake tench fishing...cry when they get snapped off by carp lol...I'm the youngest committee member, trustee and head bailiff,everyone else is in the late 70's/80's pal....it just so happens that all the committee have just voted that Myself and my fam
  19. Just get yourself a little camper/motorhome,and start holidaying around the UK and Ireland,take the dogs with you then mate...get a few runs
  20. Was 3 months from memory, the first time I did it. I had lads travel ,over from Germany to collect a Patterdale pup,they paid S.Ellis for it and I travelled up country,collected,sorted out the jabs and passport ,fed and kennelled the dog until they got over here...dog went on the back seat ,they drove home and didn't even get stopped or asked for any paperwork ...good 8 yrs or more ago mind

  22. There's was a chap on here years ago,that bred fellhound x greyhounds from Cumbria way...his nephew came to mine and had a young foxhound x Wheaton bull grey from me ...dog wouldn't cast out far enough daytime for me,so they had him for lamping...was a unit of a dog TBF Big Thomas...

You can fish outside the rowing club for free but it,gets hammered and does get busy at times and you get the clowns there...get decent barbel to 14 lb-carp 30lb plus...below the bridge is owned by Mr M.Timins,he leases the waters to MDAS... everything above and below Monmouth town is owned by MDAS, Glamorgan,Caerphilly district,Newport AC,the Wye and Usk foundation and Angling dreams are the only ones that sell day tickets £25/£35 per day,there's a few private stretches you can book....there's no night fishing-but we do allow our members to fish ,and be off the river for 12 o'clock,rods in,b
