  1. least its not a school day -- you aint got to rush about getting em ready -- skip breakfast feck the unwrapping carnage -- enjoy the battery installin and building -- pile the pots up -- curl up on the settee with a bottle of your fav wine and watch some shite xmas tv once thr in bed -- Haha honest Stig ... I can't cope with the clutter and mess. I HAVE to wash up and get the rubbish all tidied away or I freak out I'm not making a big meal on the day, just party food etc. Got a lovely free range pork shoulder to slow roast on boxing day when things are calmer
  2. now youve got me all teary but look on the bright side you can always watch dr who when theyve gone bed I'd rather set my hair on fire - I'm not a Dr Who fan  But there's some decent programs lined up on Eden and Discovery, they ought to occupy me once the sprogs collapse lol
  3. My three kids are 6 and 7 years old. In my situation, it's a lot of pressure. All my family are back home and the ex and his family have naff all to do with the kids. I'd love to spoil them but I just can't. They've got a few decent pressies, and some 'family' presents - board games and such. And that will have to do. Between tidying up the unwrapping carnage, building things, installing batteries, making breakfast, washing up .... I don't enjoy it any more. It's not right nice being the only grown up in the house on Christmas day I'll put on a santa hat and a smile and wade through the d

  6. He is that, for sure. I'm so lucky; didn't know a thing about him when I got him and he's turned out to be one of my most favourite things in the world
  7. What a shame - nothing gets the dogs all giddy like a fresh layer of snow. Carpman that avatar of yours is revolting!
  8. Woke up to a winter wonderland this morning, which always makes my Canadian heart happy ... so despite being ill, I layered up the kids and we all set off for a play in the snow. It's the terrier's first time in the snow - he didn't know what to do with himself he was so excited, he was a raving lunatic Anybody else get snow today?

  17. I worked at various vets back home for over 10 years. People brought in all sorts out of concern .... stray cats and dog, pigeons, mice, a rat or two etc Someone brought in a seagull once that'd been hit by a car. It's wing was broken. The vet I worked for at the time was a bit of a MacGyver and would have a go at fixing just about anything. He tried, it didn't work, and he got me to pts the bird so's not to let it suffer. It's good that people are concerned. It's when they go over the top and prolong suffering just to 'save the poor animal' that I get my nose out of joint.
