  1. Felt burns from a pool table are much worse mate. Or so I've been told
  2. Prolly ran straight into a low branch or sommat. Looks horrible Hope he mends quickly
  3. Blimey the last thing I'd want would to be a man The same as you: I like to look nice, but I'm happy to get my hands dirty and being out with my dogs makes me really happy. Wish you lived closer to me!
  4. i bet your a big softy when it comes to dogs bit hey arent we all Well I don't know if I'm a softy ... I'm firm and fair with my dogs. I love them for what they are, faults and all. They know I'm the boss tho
  5. Aw cheers Scent The rough coat was Griff, the one I lost in January The other handsome lad isn't mine. He was tied up in a back garden for most of his life before a lad got him off some bloke and brought him round to me. He was a fine looking dog, but very nervous. Got him into a great rescue down in Stoke till he got a home I've got a Grey and a new pup now. Edited to add in regards to Bird's post: I do find training dogs to be something that comes naturally to me. I love their company, and the relationships I've had with my dogs have enriched my life.
  6. Canadian beaver is the best to be had You really can't beat a holiday in Canada imo, if it's a city break or a hunting trip. Before i left I was hoping to take a trip way up north in Ontario: you get flown out to a cabin on the edge of a boreal forest, nowt more than the bare necessities, a radio, boat etc., and nobody else around - you can get up to all sorts Never came together but I'll do it someday. French Canadians are a bit of a handful, what with their language police and snotty attitudes about English speaking people. Still in all, Canadians are top folks.
  7. Yep, same here only mine is a Canadian goose down duvet. No wood burner or aga, so they make due with a cot bed which has a nice foam mattress on in and a flannel blanket, when downstairs. Poor dogs, so hard done by. Tomo that set up looks cosy I've heard quite a few people say they use something called vet bed - all have said it's an excellent material, easy to clean, warm and durable. Google it
  8. I shall ignore the canuks remark, for your safety. And if you've never been then how do you know about double double's and honey crullers?
  9. That may be mate, but I'm a tough stress head  Never mess with a city girl who grew up in da hood. .... I get the feeling maybe you've been to Canada? Yes and the same can be said for the men. I've met a few out and about who look, let's just say, less than savory  good call ... ...pictures of the ladies dogs with them in the pic too.... Hey snoop, look deep into my eyes ....
  10. Shortly after I moved to England, I found myself alone and pregnant in a pokey terrace house, located in a less than savory neighbourhood. I knew nobody. I had very little - if any - experience with rats (other than those I had kept as pets when I was a kid). I lay in bed one night wondering what on earth could be pounding round up in the loft at all hours. Sounded like a heard of fookin elephants. Spoke to a neighbour about it, just curious as to maybe it being cats up there I was so naive. Her hubby soon came round, poked his head up the loft, proclaimed I had rats, "Some biguns", and
  11. Right you, roll up your sleeves .... them's fightin' words. I'M FROM TORONTO!!!
  12. Do your knuckles leave a trail when you're out mooching in the countryside? Woman can be good at anything men can be good at, bar a few of the obvious things requiring extra anatomy. It's getting the experience/opportunity for many of us that stands in the way - at least that's what I'm finding so far.
  13. That's from In Living Colour Used to love watching that programme. Jim Carrey was a proper crack up when he first started. He went to the same school as me - before I got there - and left a legacy of practical jokes behind
  14. So what's the point exactly, if the beef is on the bone? Is that supposed to matter for some reason? Gawd now I'm gagging for a pricey posh restaurant that'll serve me a big t-bone meal, follwed by a nice after dinner liquer. Don't tell me I'm going to have to fly back home to enjoy one? Edited to add - that cowboy was right. But I bet if he needed to eat his horse, he'd shoot him cleanly, not let him suffer
  15. Hey man, love me, love my dogs Not asking 'cause I want one! One puppy at a time for me ta. Just curious
  16. My bitch pup is slightly over shot. Don't see how it would do her any harm, her teeth and mouth are otherwise well formed. Actually there's an advantage in that she seems to eat a bit slower because of it, so doesn't hoover up her food at warp speed
  17. Do you mean to tell me t-bones are illegal in the UK? I've never heard that one before! Ffs there's nowt much like a t-bone, cooked to perfection .... Why on earth would they be illegal? Forgive my ignorance.
  18. Awwww, snack sized poopies Yep, looks like a fruit bat. But fruit bats are cute I'd love to have a little dog someday - all of my dogs have been big 'uns. Any chi's I've met have been big characters. I think if they're encouraged to be a dog, and not dressed in pink tutus with matching handbags they'd make a good addition to a family. Congrats! Are they both spoken for already?
  19. Yep, very interesting read - cheers! And that picture is ace
  20. Lovin' the collar - well, all your stuff really. About to place an order
  21. Well Wilf we all have our own grey areas and fine lines in the sand. By cruelty I mean blatant and unecessary suffering. But anyway it's all so much hot air, I'm not a crusader or owt.
  22. I'm not pointing a finger at China because they eat dogs, I point a finger to all countries, this one and mine included, who turn their backs on welfare standards and/or fail to police the ones they've got. It's the cruelty that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's not for me to condemn another country because they eat dogs though personally the very idea makes me
