  1. Why the hell are you up at 4 in the morning??

  2. I've got a budget of about £140 or so .... and I'm after a 2 for 1 deal. With those fancy lenses that adjust in sunlight I can't see long distance. Snoop keeps pointing out bunnies in fields and then cackling and saying "you can't see 'em can you" And he's right, I can't Has anyone ever gone to the Boots one? This all saves me having to shop round with three maniac toddlers in tow
  3. Looks like my ex wife, probably smells the same....i threw her in a few weeks back. Amazing how far shit travels Not that your bitter or anything
  4. Whatever it is, I wouldn't want to be within 100 miles of Bruce at the moment. Who gets the dubious job of bathing him? Why would someone pay for a seal skull
  5. ... maybe I'm soft but that looked awful  He shouldn't have been kicking the wall in but I doubt he deserved that kind of pain. Poor little chav
  6. Just a quick question for those of you in the Spectacle Brigade. I'm in the market for new specs as my dog chewed up the last pair. I figured I'd head off to Specsavers this weekend as they seem to have decent deals but just wondered if there's a different place anyone would recommend? The last pair I bought in Canada so haven't really dealt with any of the places here yet. Cheers.
  7. Hey Sean ... I'll take it off your hands for £20 That's about all I've got. Go on, donate it to a good cause .... which would be me learning how to use it Bumpity bump
  8. Pat you know I think Ted is the biz What's his skin like tho? My pup (grey/beddie/beardie/saluki/bull etc) seems to love going into the bush but at 7 months and 25" she's getting a bit big for it. Doesn't seem to stop her, mind. But she's got paper thin skin and already has several little nicks and scars.
  9. I've always preferred the look of tall lightweight dogs, but I don't half love whippets and really want one some day. A whippet cross would suit me fine if it wouldn't get itself shredded in the bush. What whippet crosses besides beddie/whippet do some of you use then, and why?
  10. Very nice - looks a lot like my 7 month old bitch
  11. Happy Birthday Scent, you peeping tom All the best pal
  12. Does nobody have any pics of terrier/spaniel crosses then? Thanks all for the info, gives me something to think about. This time next year I may well be in the market for a little bushing mate for the lurcher.
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone Skycat do you think most small crosses can have those abilities. What I'm wondering is can pretty much any terrier type have the right nose, drive etc? Is it down to the individual or more specifically breed related? And would collie add anything valuable to the mix? Does anyone have pics of their terrier/spaniel crosses? Curious about them, I quite like spaniels but I don't think I've ever seen a terrier/spaniel cross. Cheers
  14. Probably a stupid question but here goes ... Do bushing dogs generally have to be a certain type, or can any dog with the aptitude do the job? I see lots of folks on here talking about terrier/spaniel crosses, jrt/whippets etc., so I'm just wondering if they have to be a certain type? Or what do you look for in a dog who's meant to do that job? Could, say, a terrier/collie type cross be good at bushing? Sorry if it's a plonker's question but a girl's got to learn somehow
  15. I think they're horrible looking things ... like weird little aliens or sommat. My dog found a dead one once and I'd never laid eyes on one till then. Creepy looking critters even if they come in pretty colours
  16. Nice one FJ Those Chessies are nice looking animals but I've never seen one working.
  17. What will they be like when they get here JD? And how do you ship 'em?
  18. Alright Kay, we'll have a go together. I've pm'd JD my addy. The kids will be well excited about this. Kay - you show me yours, I'll show you mine. TEEHEEHEE!
  19. Forgot to add ... don't take the pound's word for it when they say they've not got one fitting the description. Some of them are plonkers who wouldn't know a lurcher if it bit them on the arse. Go look yourself if you can. Good luck mate.
  20. Hey lampingking, does that invite only extend to blokes? I'm in Burnley too! RFYL I'll keep my eyes open. Also speak to some folks I know roundabouts. Was she pinched from her kennel???? Gutted for you both - hope you get her back.
