  1. Sussex. I'm going to put up a pic tomorrow to show you why you will be growing carrots next year. I was in the same boat till someone put me wise. I think you'll like the idea and the results. Jok.
  2. Nice little tip the other day. Was getting a lot of my young greens smashed by the pigeons which as you all know is a bit disheartening. Now there are rubber snakes in each bed which them pesky cushies do not like. I'm going to set my trail cam up and see what else is at me. Lol. Jok.
  3. Sorry. Should have read Ratmanwan. Good chap. Jok.
  4. At the risk of repeating myself, there are a number of things you can sow at the moment . Winter cauliflower, peas, but you have to be quick, ,all your salads and of course your Christmas potatoes. Charlotte is a good bet grown in them bags. To be honest I don't stop and strangely the garden keeps producing from now till March. I am amazed at the quality of my brassicas. For some reason I've selected the correct ground for them and they have thrived. As already mentioned, we have to contend with the cabbage white butterfly but nets are in place. Now I know you are all going to have a bit of a
  5. Each time I see your face, It's all it needs, to end the race, to find, PERFECTION?

  6. Well Nik I'm happy to report that none of mine have gone above a couple of inches. When I set the seed I had this in mind. It only takes a few moments to place the seed instead of randomly chucking it in. Now the last lot I've put in were placed to . promote a larger beet which, hopefully, will be ready mid October. Trial and error my good friend. Know what though? They still taste brilliant no matter the size. Is that not why we do what we do? Jok.
  7. Basically, he can't be refused. If you don't have a criminal record, are not known for violence, have a steady family life and in general are a good person to be around, your local firearms officer will give you a visit, have a chat over a cuppa and ask about storage arrangements and where your shooting interests will be and who with. After that it's down to waiting for paperwork which can be a right bummer with a few authorities. The old days where your doctor or similar professional person vouches for you are long gone I believe. These are my opinions only. Jok.
  8. Oh Ant. Things for me to play on when I come up. Sounding better all the time. Jok.
  9. Spoken like a true gardener. We are all the same and do this year after year. Mind you they don't complain down the local. I can't believe you are so far in front with your beans. All of us are struggling this year and certainly no one has yet picked a dinner. Everything else has been superb but, yes, struggling with the beans. .
  10. Terry mate. Mate mate. You are looking at a load of grief. Get the spray on the go now. Forget the digging because you'll end up spreading the roots. Kill the mothers before they seed. Better a clean garden than one filled with avoidable weeds. Only a thought pal. Jok.
  11. Got the new spuds, carrots and courgette ready. All I need now is the main course. Lol. Jok.
  12. Do you guys want to catch barbel no matter where.? If so, what about Thorpe fishery. Not that I know anything about the job but I'mm hearing that it's a good venue. MattyG must have heard a bit about it. Mind you, I've been waiting for 7 months for my Zander and the kids are looking like waifs. Ah well. Jok.
  13. Contact Ratmandan. He'll sort you.
  14. Get some seed in now and you should get 13/14 weeks growing. Make sure you keep them moist for the next couple of weeks. I also just put another row of peas which are racing on. Cabbage seed won't let down. I'm doing Durham Early, and of course radish and lettuce will still do well. Jok
  15. All day long £70 to £ mate. We used them as a pony cylinder when deep diving and with the rig was paying £140. Certainly not robbing anyone at that money as long as the test is in date. Jok.
  16. Guys. Just been informed I'm doing the main bathroom next. Flipping jobs just get worse ffs. Love it really. Jok.
  17. Hi Mixed bag. Reckon £250 would be honourable. It's in good order. Think it was £2500 when orIgnally bought then all the electrics. Good buy really. Jok.
  18. Nice one Terry. The greenhouse will do you wonders. Strange but true. Our association doesn't allow glass but after the chairman put one up I decided to follow suit. How could they complain? Must admit it makes a big difference. Jok.
  19. Yes it's fully operational. Tell you what pal. It's a joy when November comes round. Jok.
  20. No son I didn't. It's my 2 brothers in law who fly, very successfully and breed to sell as well. I don't think they fly the North road nowadays. Anyone who times in 9 deserves a big pat on the back. Presumably he's in or around Earlston?? Jok.
  21. Where are you at son. I can help with some of the best knowledge . Midlands . Just sent the birds for the Midlands National. Jok.
  22. Rabid. It will be in my warehouse shortly. Ashby de la Zouch. Leics. offers.jok.
