  1. Well guys. Got to get in here. Had a long hard look at the damage and decided to dig out the first four rows of earlies. We managed two good dinners but what a shocker. So. Re dug and am putting in the brassicas that would normally have gone in after June 20th. Also, put in 4 rows of spinach. Now this new to me but our local council allows hose pipe watering so I'm giving it large. One or two of you will remember pics of last years results and I'm hoping to post similar this year but not of spuds. As I may have mentioned previously, I'm growing dahlias which is a first. The things look bloody
  2. Now then you guys. I've just been offered a 12 X 8 aluminium greenhouse which is in great order. Now I can't fit it in anywhere so I put it out to you. My friends and I will take it down and move it. This will be available from South Derbs. I think offers will be in order. All the glass is intact at present and I'm led to believe that the potting benches with it cost quite a few bob. Anything raised will be donated to the NHS so dig deep lads. Stay safe. Jok.
  3. Griff. He's getting good pal. Nice to see. Stay safe you all. Jok.
  4. Alan Bown , Donisthorpe might be worth a shout. Nearly neighbour to you. Jok.
  5. Hi geezers. This is just a heads up really to let any interested parties know that the brother and sister in law have just had a litter, born last night. She had 9 pups, 3 bitches and 6 dogs. The bitches, as you would expect, are spoken for as are 2 of the dogs. That leaves 4 looking for new owners. They will be fully vaccinated and I believe chipped but not sure and will be £900.00 per pup. The location is South Derbs. I am not an agent or would take any responsibility over any transactions. If you are at all interested then by all means ask me and I'll direct you to the owners. Thanks for l
  6. Nice one. Looks like one of my marquee tables too you thieving SOB. Lol. Stay safe. Jok.
  7. There is a plus to Greyman visiting the Scottish Boders with me. I will introduce him to some of the worlds ancient and feared evils. They don't have to be photographed as they are in the public domain. Horrendous creatures for sure. Jok.
  8. Long time since I heard that. Village idiot indeed. Marvellous. Jok
  9. Long time since I heard that. Village idiot indeed. Marvellous. Jok
  10. No mate was unaware. No one keeps me informed these days. Mind you, I thought Melrose had a more than healthy bank balance. Stay safe. Jok.
  11. Saluki Boy. You bad lad. When you've played on the Greenyards for Melrose one of the last places to meet would be Gala ffs. I've not been up since my brother died but when we get through this it's on the bucket list. Stay safe. Jok.
  12. One of the loveliest pictures imaginable. The Eildon Hills over Melrose. Gods country for sure. Stay safe. Jok.
  13. Look at the quality of the props. Ffs montblanc cuff links, leather bound volume, wristwatch to die for and a fountain pen to sign off your cheques. Now then Spurfer are you being totally honest you left all your tools in Germany??? What a lovely thing. You do make things and make them look the best. Regards. Stay safe. Jok.
  14. Well Greyman. I'm due a visit to my homeland and to see Chevinfox and introduce you to the delights of that particular part of the Scottish Borders would be a pleasure. I am fairly well known. Jok.
  15. They'll be the Dukes deer then. I think one of my brothers lives there now. Jok.
  16. Chevinfox. Still love those pics pal. Don't know how many times I've looked at them. Stay safe. Jok.
  17. Well Balaur. She has got it right. We all got smashed last night so now we will rely on good old Mother Nature to help us along. No use crying over spilt milk but equally I can't go replanting 14 rows of spuds. My beans were just a shot in the dark and have plenty of back up. Everything else, so far, survived. Stay safe guys. Jok.
  18. Unless the ground is Forestry Commission, in which case that is your best introduction, then it will be privately owned farmland in which case, speak nicely to the farmer. In general they are very approachable and in your instance I would think they'd be more than I tested in your results. You might , after getting down for a few hours be able to give them valuable information on deer numbers, species etc. Once again good luck and stay safe. Jok.
  19. Now someone might pick up on it. All I would say is that you try your damnest to find who the local stalker/s is or are. Apart from anything else , provided you are no threat to them and their permissions, they would more than likely give you some friendly advice on how to go about your challenge. Good luck sir. Stay safe. Jok.
  20. Yes Terry. The guys thought I was building a bus shelter. Nice though isn't it? I'll be the first to admit that I put 100% in and reap the rewards. Arry. Although the pics possibly show an easy transition to gardening bliss, this was by no means an easy dig. The ground was a mess and I've spent many hours getting it round. Even now I'm finding problems which need addressing but I reckon it's going to be good. Just today I put in cauli's and more sweet corn in the beds in the pics. Hopefully, as in last years pics, I'll get some nice produce which I'll put up on here. I'ts lovely to interact o
