  1. Only because you can't accept that there is no pure answer. A vaccine can be pronounced safe even if some people suffer side effects from it. Like a million to one against a higher risk of being affected by a virus.
  2. This is the whole stupidity of the debate. No vaccine can be totally safe. There will always be people who react badly to a particular vaccine. Simiarly some people will hardly be affected by a virus whilst others will die from it even if they are vaccinated. Same as some people pull out a bee sting and get on with their lives whilst others die despite medical care. Life and death are a lottery so you take the course that you feel is best for you and take the chances. The problem with you and others who are obsessed with dissing the vaccine is that you can't see the wood for the tr
  3. So, we now know that this MP was making it up as he went on and nothing that he said can be proved. And yet people still believe him. Willfull Blindness in action.
  4. Have a word with gnasher. He knows people who can make that happen.
  5. Or a loaded zoomer sliding float? On the lake I fish the silvers were around 1.8m deep in over 4m of water. If the southerly wind pushes warmer water to the north shore they will or should be wherever the depth coincides with around 1.8 metre or a bit shallower if the conditions remain constant.
  6. This is one arm of a 120Ha lake, about 25 acres. The cormorants were massed in a very small area which is the deepest part of that arm. I have never seen numbers like that and today there were only five or six when I went past. Yesteday they were coming in liks pigeons to a set of decoys and bizzzarly herons, egrets and crows were circling a few feet above them. It was like those bait ball films on tv. There is no boating on that part of the lake and no fishing off the dam. I think by tomorrow they will have dispersed and followed the warmer surface water to the north bank. I should be able to
  7. Had a few hours out this morning. It was -2C when I left home and 10C when I got back. I have an airport run this afternoon or I would have gone later. Must have been over 100 cormorants grouped tightly with herons, egrets and even crows trying to join tha party. The centre of activity was over 100 metres from either bank so out of range. If I could fish from the dam they were only 30 metres from the bank. Tried both banks, nothing doing
  8. The dual carriageways were down to one lane. I could either sit behind an artic at 40kph or go off piste. Problem was, the spray from the wagon froze on the windscreen at -20C and the washer fluid was frozen. After passing a lorry I had to drop the driver 's window and spray neat de-icer on the screen while still driving. I had used the car for feeding pheasants and pigeon shooting and had Dunlop Winter Sport tyres on it.
  9. Hang on. The thread is about covid jabs not the feckin economy. How many time this week have you been accused of moving the goal posts? We can't all be wrong.
  10. I read a book about the American guide dogs experiences with dog breeding. Initially they relied on donated dogs and had a 96% failure rate. They started breeding their own dogs in order to get a better success rate. During this process they monitored every aspect of the program. After hundreds of matings and thousands of tests they came to several conclusions. First was that the optimum time to seperate pups from bitches was 8 weeks. Any earlier caused longer training times as the pups seemed to be immature. Any later, especially after 10 weeks often resulted in pups not progressing enough t
  11. OK. Ask Dido whether he had an age range in mind for his opinions. Old 'uns got vaxed too.
  12. Yes, but they wouldn't have got a smack on the chops. They would have been rodgered like buggery and relieved of their Rolex ?
  13. And what has that got to do with Neo's statement? Moving the goalposts again ?
  14. I bet they haven't had funny experiences in public toilets like you had ?
  15. What has that got to do with Neo's claim? ? Trying to move the goal posts back two generations ?
  16. Came across the photos I took when I first came to France. It was day 1 of a two week long 'grand froid' when the day time temps were -8C and night time went down to -25C. When I got there after a 14 hour drive there was no fire wood and the gas bottle and water pipes were frozen and remained so for two weeks. My bedding was in the top box that had been subject to -25C for the last five hours of the journey.

Just don't let him point it at a fence. Bantams are for delivering telelgrams, not escaping from prison camps.
  18. Its not their physical state that worries me. These are people who have never experienced real life and have lived in a different world to the people they are presiding over.
  19. Oh! And no side effects. In fact I don't know anybody who has and most of my friends, neighbours and customers are vaccinated. But don't let that change your opinion.
  20. Our 1960's house is paid for, as are the three diesel fueled vehicles, we eat local products from local supermarkets, we own everything in the house, no debt, tens of thousands € in the banks, €500 or €600 cash in the dingle pot, and are very happy. But thanks for the concern.
  21. You'd think a decent boxer would at least given him time to shake the drops off his todger and stow it away, and not take a sneaky punch while he was in mid-flow. Sounds more like one of those un-genlemanly karate blokes to me.
  22. I know people who would never have chosen to live like they do. They have no alternative due to circumstances beyond their control. Example; A family who lost their income due to the father having an accident, paid out by insurance then MRSA set in and he had to have another 12 months off work and the insurers won't pay the second claim. Nobody can legislate for that.
  23. They reckon the cheapest form of heating is an air to air unit, but it doesn't work so well in really cold weather and the initial cost is prohibitive. Best option is to let his girlfriend move in. That'll keep him warm.
