    I agree with Jukel in that there are people who are blighted with bad luck or health or circumstances that dictate how they live. I know people like that. I also have met a lot of people who make their own bad luck. No job, can't feed the kids, but got a £1500 iphone on the drip along with £30 a month going out on call contracts. There are all sorts of reasons. You have to know the problem before you can critisise the situation.

    I was out on mole-patrol today and saw a raptor that I am struggling to id. I wonder if anyone can suggest the species. I was travelling through the Charente in south-west France when I saw three of four buzzards in a field to my right. One of them looked odd in that it had a pure white under body. Coincidentally I had seen a very pale phase buzzard half an hour previously and this was different in that it had a dark coloured upper body & wings. I stopped the car and reversed back.     What it amounts to is that Musk has overturned Gates to become the new head of SMERSH and is going to take over the world. Meanwhile the British Intellegence Service are struggling to recruit agents who can kill Musk and blow up SMERSH HQ and also tick all the diversity boxes modern recruitment demands. So, if anyone knows a black, lesbian or gender fluid, disabled, left wing person who likes travel and killing people let MI6 know. Diane Abbott is currently hot favourite. I know that she is not lesbian but she identifies as being an imbecile.

    I was thinking that last point myself. Last week while driving to my fishing location I saw what looked to be possibly a large black cat. Far larger than a domestic cat, but it was a quarter of a mile away and I only had it in sight for a few seconds. The tail was too long for a labrador and too thick for a greyhound, and carried low. No idea what it was, but there aren't many black animals of that sort of size other than dogs. The balance of probability would be a dog following the owner who was already out of sight.

    My view is that if they invaded half the Middle East for the oil they would run out of soldiers as all those countries populations would be taking pot shots at them, laying IEDs and generally making their livss Hell like Afghanistan x 1000

    I passed a driven boar hunt the other day with one of them carrying a hunting bow. All the rest seemed to favour 12g rifled slugs.

    There are zander in virtually every water over here in France and always has been. Still plenty of silvers around. They seem to fit in with perch and pike. Virtually every one caught gets eaten though. Same with perch and pike.

    My SIL drew Morocco in the factory sweep. How they laughed. I bet they aren't laughing now.

    First, are you sure that they are rats and not birds? Strange that no traps have been disturbed, but if you put peanut butter on a jam jar lid, not in a trap, that should be taken if rats are about.
