  1. That is exactly what I did re pin You dont want it to tight, or you'll be applying for your ticket aswell... Although, not sure how it works in France, if thats were you are based. Nice one.
  2. Might be a bit late here but my v-Mach kit and 97kt install went without a hitch apart from the pivot pin being a bitch, no resizing or nothing. Same with my 98 and both are now my only field and hft buddies. PCP...?! Pahahahahha. V-Mach system any day.

Tar chaps. Mac... Means a lot coming from yourself. Setting standards for shot placement for me personally. Anyway, enough brown nosing. Funnily enough, two of the five rabbits shot, I didn't picture all of them, were taken with high neck shots. I'm shocking at judging distances, even on the hft course, and they were clearly further than I thought, about 48 yards, not enough hold over for my 27 yards zero, but again, the 98 and FTT trajectory is so flat, just not flat enough, but still dropped um. As mentioned, the 177 does allow the rabbit to kick substantially more than the sheer fo
  6. Ha. Savagely funny reply.
  7. Stick a few holes in paper man and find out... This question depends a lot on your set up... Testing will answer it.

Further more to my foray yesterday, I went out this evening for them damn jays but wandered onto a new part of my shoot I hadn't been before. Firstly, while in the wooded area, I managed to drop this 'pie from about 42 yards. The image shows the tree I shot it from. It was taken next to the tree I used to shoot supported. No joy on the jay front mind. Next time. I wandered onto a new patch, in the search of the fury buggers. I dropped this chap along the edge of a stubble field. Thoughts on his unfortunate facial features? Start of mixy? He was left for the badgers anyway, but it

A whole bloody day in a hide waiting for a couple of Jays I've noticed around my shoot ended up with turning round having sat still for an hour or two, to spot a rabbit, unfortunately for it, dead on my zero of 32 paces. The 98 nudged in my shoulder from a hft kneeling position and I actually thought I'd missed and the rabbit was deaf... It didn't move. On closer inspection, I saw why... Shot placement. The H&N did it's job, clean and clinical with no mess. .177 positives. For all those with tuned 98's... this is why we love um. The Jays. No show. Again. Going again this evening thoug
  11. Can I ask why you cant shoot it? Naturally Im guessing its the rarity of such a corvid.
  12. Got half way into the reply...... Lots of text. Annnnyyyyywayyyyyyy. I was being sarcastic and yes, in jest. The imp is a lovely creation. But we know it is. That's all I was saying.
  13. Ultra or AA200 mate for PCP's. If shooting is his thing, get him a springer first... to learn the 'jedi way'... 99/95 as mentioned above.

  15. Dont let it bring in bad habits...
  16. "I have potentially gotten lazy with my marksmanship since switching from Spring to PCP. I will update you when i figure it out." This often happens.
  17. As an edit, just noticed my own trophies are .53 so they'll be tighter anyway.
  18. It could be something to do with your set up mate, but I found that zero shift is actually down to me, or the shooter. Even now, with a PCP, if I change my shooting technique, position, breathing then the pellet doesn't strike the first hole. If it holds zero all day, then appears to change the next day, the problem doesn't point at your set up, are you doing anything different? Things seem right re the filling and shot count. As you may already know, people get there cocks out over the Ultra its so good. 37 yards zero it a bit far mind, what are your intended ranges covered by that? F
  19. Skot or any other members. What size are the JSB's your putting through your 97 mate? .52 or .53 Im using H&N Trophies at the moment and find them to be OK really. Really OK as it happens. Groups really well. Last night I was out on a perm and took a rabbit at about 31 yards or so. Anyway, after the skinning etc, I found the pellet lodged just behind the spine in the neck. Having a closer look, I saw that the grooves on the pellet from the rifling of the barrel weren't actually that deep. This got me thinking, even though paper groups are tight, could they be tighter. My 98 is
  20. Fair point. Theres something kinda nice about the fact your 'preserving the rifle' for the next owner...
