  10. Bumped into the Cathera today, on Skiddaw, shame I was with the family! Just having a practice at putting pics up! Got a few better ones on the camera. Yes folks, I'd live up there given half a chance.

  14. Too true. My missus suffers badly with depression, has done for years. Not nice for either partner. Post natal depression for my missus. 16. One of the nicest chaps I've ever met, when out with the blencathera was a fella called Ian. Old boy, think he was a regular with the pennine. Gave me a lift, with dogs, from where the meet was cancelled (didn't want to spook the sheep on the frozen fellside) to a mile down the road. ... He didn't know me from Adam....
  17. Well I'm off up to the lakes, first week of December, it's the old boy's 60th, lots of family going up and got a nice place booked. I'll have a day to two out, but not sure how I'll get someone to vouch for me being a one man band if you like! LOL! Like you say, phone call for starters. Introduce yourself, hand in pocket etc. ...
  18. Not the first time ive heard that said about their regulars. Must admit i turned up at one of the cathera meets, just me with the lurcher and the pointer, got interroated for 10 mins by one of them before I was accepted. Think they'd had recent trouble with the anti's, never seen an anti with working dogs though! LOL I did get a lift back to the cottage we were staying in another time so cant complain really. Coniston looking favourable at the mo as we're pretty much on their patch.

  20. You have a good day DIDO? im up there in a few weeks and will be looking for a mid week walk out. Fancy a change from the Blenathera. Like you say... work can wait for another day!
  21. I am at a loss to know why you would think like that? The animal has been semi domesticated it has no fear of human or dogs. It's fate was sealed when it was handed in. Perhaps the best thing would have been to euthanase it as a kit, but it was not done. So as it does seem very happy where it is, and it interacts with all his other animals why would you class it as a poor fcuker? Since I made the first post there honestly does not seem to be any change in it's behaviour, I have seen it a few times since and it is just as bossy with the dogs as it was. TC My appoliges if that comment sou
  22. Turn the poor fcuker loose FFS....
  23. GORTEX pro shell is the material you're looking for. 3rd season wearing this. Had everything thrown at it and never failed. http://m.ellis-brigham.com/products/mountain-equipment/mens-kamchatka-jacket/228468#overview Very, very tough material, smooth surface aswell so less likley to snag on anything. Top end for waterproofness AND breathability. I really rate it, pretty much bullet proof. Just, for the second time, washed and reproofed it using these two products http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikwax-Tech-Wash-Direct-Wash-In/dp/B001RE3FLO Just for general maintenance, keeps the c
