Good to have a MTBing thread on here fellas.. hope you get sorted with your bikes soonish lads that waiting.. I binned work off on Thursday. I didnt make the decision until the alarm went off at 5:00am! Noticed they'd given a decent forcast so decided to throw the bike in the car and do the hour's drive into the heart of the Peaks, Derbyshire. Being early and midweek was bliss. This popular trail gets rammed on a weekend but i had all to myself..

Pic from last Thursday, my mrs and daughters in between stops. That was our first Mackrell trip we've ever done. You can just about make the dirty scrounging f@@kers out in the background on the old landing. We had a walk there few days before and they'd got whole families down there at it. Wome and kids of all ages... full production line by looks of it! I did actually notice a sign on the path down to Berry head saying maximum of 20 Mackrell per person!!

It certainly was mate. We popped in at Dartmouth on the way down for a quick walk around and a few bits.. such a nice place. Shame i didn't take more photos.. Decided I'm going to treat myself to a nice little Mackrell rig.. or sea fishing general set up. I'm back on the coast for a week in Kent and then a week in Suffolk next month so I've got a few weeks to get my teeth into this sea fishing business and decide what gear i need. I'd like to keep things simple to be honest, quality gear.. but minimal faff!! I'm all ears if anyone has got any pointers!! I live 70 mile fr

That's about right distance wise but i did see a cople of girls doing similar inbetween where we were. I got a little video of my daughter as she swam down towards where you where. Who needs a wetsuit! lol..❤

? bloody ek.. it's a small world as they say isn't it!! We could have passed without knowing it!! Cracking pic that matey.. We drove down past Slapton and tried to pull in for a remanise, camped there 3/4 year back, but couldn't get parked up!! I'd got my sights on Beesands anyway as not been there before. I'm finding myself looking at Mackrel set ups now!!??

Any ideas what's having dabble at these whitebaite lad's?? Obviously something below the surface is splittng the schools, forcing them to beach or jump out of the water. I've never seen it happen before.. but i don't live on the coast and don't really know a deal about fishing... Other than harpooning a big whale on a Saturday night... My daughter spent a good while throwing them back in bless her!! I got back to my pastie after 2 minutes..

I'm from a family of 5 and my parents fostered various children between guessing from when i was probably 8 to 13 years old. We had the full age range.. new borns up to young teens.. twins, triplets... brothers and sisters. I shared my bedroom with many a strang fellow youngster back then. Some where fine... Some where little b@stards.. but back then at that age i just accepted it. No big deal having a set of twin boys come to share your bedroom for a month or two out of the blue!! I don't know or care about the money side of it now, or back then.. would have been late 80's
