  1. @Bush Rummager you need to start spending more time with your sister mate, looks incredible with the conditions and where she’s been ??? Yes, it’s a lovely little village and if there’s camping and pub at the end of a good walk then that’s just the icing on the cake… Get the tent bought, get the boots on and get outside mate ????
  2. That’s a bit gutting with the weather but like you say, rough with the smooth… Its a cracking walk mate and definitely something you need to see for yourself to appreciate it… About 1 1/2 hr drive for me so will be back for a wild camp up there ?
  3. Had a drive out West yesterday, parked at the village of Dufton (near Appleby) and walked up to High Cup Nick..
  4. Chicken kebab skewers on a bed of pickled cabbage, peppers, salad, garlic mayo and a hot sauce with a homemade flat bread and skinny fries ???

  7. @Bush Rummager Osprey Rook 65 Rucksack - Black WWW.TAUNTONLEISURE.COM This is a great pack for the money and no frills/zips/straps and could be had at go outdoors for £115 - show them this link and they’ll price match + 10% so may be a good option or something similar but I’d get fitted/sized somewhere first ?
  8. @Bush Rummager Nice to know you’re starting to get all your kit together mate… Starting out you need a pack of around 60/65l, Osprey and Lowe Alpine do some awesome packs but with come with a price tag - Osprey Atmos 65 or the Lowe alpine Manasalu 65/80 can both be picked up for £150 and £130 respectively - these packs have frames in so a bit heavier… Osprey Exos 58 is a “frameless” pack and certainly no frills/straps/pockets all over (unsure of comes with rain cover), loads of people use an Exos 38 or 48 for lighter weight spring/summer camping… Atom packs are meant to be
  9. Not my finest of photo's but tasted amazing…
  10. Happens all the time with the change in temps and moisture in the air… Can only try and vent the tent as much as possible but mainly unavoidable… It had iced up on the inside of the outer skin on mine this morning, the Soulo is an absolute condensation nightmare but it’s a bombproof tent…
  11. Absolutely mate, testing it out a little and making sure I get my moneys worth… Not the cheapest but far superior to so many. Akto could be on the cards for the summer months ?
  12. To be fair with the correct appropriate gear then it’s all extremely comfortable and shouldn’t feel the cold really… You’d be all good. It all depends if you’re a hot or cold sleeper, I used a 3 season bag last night paired with merino wool baselayer top and bottoms, Bridgdale socks and chucked a couple hand warmers in the bottom of the bag so not to get cold feet… Yes, few star jumps/walk will heat the body up before getting in the bag as it’s your body that will generate the heat in the bag, also having a meal just before bed/sleeping will help your body generate heat… A mummy
