  1. The reason the last pic gives me hope, IF you're going to get pigeons, they'll land there when the grass is how it is. But it'll take a while for them to be used to that land. Looks like reclaimed land, not quite 'proper' fields, but being held in place ready to be developed in a few years time. The grass is way too high for pigeons to land, so any bread you've put out, unless the pigeons have a clear landing spot, they'll not go down, even for food.
  2. Interesting. Looking at the pics 2 of them give me hope. The first and the last. If you look at the second, third and forth pictures, that says to me...open field. It's rare that you'll find rabbits in the middle of an open area. Even though there is a fence running along the pics, there is absolutely no cover for rabbits to hide. Imagine if you were a rabbit. Would you go out into the open, along a manmade structure (the fence) without any good cover from birds of prey, or people, just to eat some grass that you can get from just outside the burrow entrance? With the first picture, wh
  3. For those who've not heard of Phantom Time, this is a quick summary:
  4. Sorry to ruin this for you mate, I'm really undecided on the subject, so I'm not overly interested in 'fighting' any side for or against. It's something I have heard about and just wondered if anyone else had heard anything on the subject. Also, if it was true, I'm really not sure of the effect it would have, other than changing the dates on calendars and in history books.
  5. You're right there in the originals he did look sweet. This is the new loony tunes 3D CGI style Elmer Fudd. Is that the same Elmer Fudd that causes me to have nightmares? haha Nice tattoo mate. When's the bunny going on?
  6. Basically the principle is that although the 'recognised' year is 2014 at the moment, the idea is that because of all the changes to the calendar, changes of year, month changes, change from lunar to solar calendar, we're actually living around 1700AD instead of the recognised 2014.
  7. Hello ferreter's This is 100% genuine. As I'm sure a lot of you know, my wife works at a vets. She asked me if I knew anyone that might want a ferret as they have one that needs a home. Male, healthy, very friendly, but according to my wife he must go to someone experienced with ferrets. For no reason other than it gives her peace of mind. Came into the practice with a few ticks and seemed unwell. Now it's a bouncy ferret all treated and ready to go. Needs a home ASAP otherwise the vets have said they'll put it down. Please message me soon.
  8. but arent the council owned the cemeteries? they will just get their own pest control in? there are a few i could try, also ones in churches. i'll have a look about while im out and about mate. tbh i've been looking into getting my pest control qualification and have that business alongside my courier business. its quite alot of money to do though. Woooah there horsey! Walk before you can run! You've not bagged a bunny and you're looking at getting qualifications. From what I can tell, you're quite new to shooting. Get the basics sorted first. Start off, crawl, walk, run. Once you'v
  9. When you're on Tinypic, after you've uploaded the image, you'll have a load of options. Just click the link with the bits on it that says "For forums" Just copy and paste the link directly into where you write messages. Don't click anything on here except the "Post" button. No "My media" or "Insert picture" or anything like that. Ignore all of that. The code from tinypic is all you need to post. So the part where you write your message will look like..... Alright lads, here are the pics: https.www. tinypic .com. blar blar blar blar.............more blar blar here....[ /IMG]
  10. Mr Tea Pot, if you set a snare using the fence to anchor it, if the rabbit was on the other side of the fence, would you legally be allowed to pull it back through?
  11. At least it didn't say W011 FLK with a very cleverly placed retention pin to make it read WON FLK. To be fair, I did have to look up the numberplate and read the story to see what was so bad about it. Anyone else aged 30 or below might also struggle with that reference. Or maybe I'm just thick.
  12. I think I'm just rubbish at visualising. A couple of pics would be really helpful. The questions that'll be answered will be whether the runs are still in use, what's going on with the flattened grass, what could be going wrong and how you can work around that. Get some pics onto tinypic and then use the "Forum" link to post them on here. What I'm starting to think...are you driving to the permission and is the sound of the car scaring any rabbits off? The less you move, the better your odds of seeing something. But high grass is not going to help.

  14. When you get into the field, if you get into the field at point A, assuming point B is where the grass run lines and grass tunnels are, how far is it from entering the field (point A) to get to the tunnels (point B )?
  15. How much land do you have to shoot on? Around the edges of the fence (I'm assuming there are fences) do you see any rabbit lines? Grass Tunnels? You can see here the spots the rabbits land on...great for snaring (so I've recently learned) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_auraBKYm3dU/SiwjwFf-WsI/AAAAAAAAAuQ/d84RQfFjb0g/s400/Richpic0854.jpg You can see a grass parting here where animals have squashed down a path. http://prescotonline.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/animal_path.jpg Here's another path and you can see the plants parting when they reach the hedge. Follow the path high i
  16. I was introduced to the concept of swatting a couple of days ago. Does this just mean I'm way behind my times or is this recognised throughout the UK? The idea is it's a prank call to the emergency services based on false information to get a desired response, e.g. to have a swat team smash through a person's house and have everyone held up. This is crazy! Obviously we all know about prank calls about bomb threats and the alike. Pretty common with the IRA and things like that. But in the USA they're calling in 'ongoing emergency situations' that cause swat teams to be put into play
  17. My friend just popped me an email with a link. I think it fits in here: http://www.therightplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Muslim-propaganda.jpg
  18. If you're luring birds there with bread, you're not allowed to shoot them either. Use tinypic to upload the pictures.
  19. Budget and purpose (day shooting, night, twilight, etc) please.
  20. Just checked out the Ranchero. Nice looking air pistol, but from what I've seen, not UK legal without FAC. Energy 4,5 (.177): 16 J • 12 ft/lbs 5,5 (.22): 28 J • 18 ft/lbs
  21. Looks like a good tattoo. I always thought Elma Fudd looked sweet. On your arm he looks damn menacing!
  22. That's my view too. As for the advocates, they are generally using architecture and carbon dating that suggests that the period we think of as bring 600-900AD actually never happened. Records from those periods do not seem to exist and architecture from 600AD is identical to 900AD, and in 300 years there is no variance, but there are also no other buildings 'recognised' as bring from between 600-900AD. Weird hu?
  23. How far up are you able to come? If I was to assume you had night vision, would I be right? Would have to check with the farmer though.
  24. I like you Chris, so I'm not going to do my usual thing of asking to borrow your wife or drive your car (long story). With the amount of experience you have, you'd be better to ask if there's anyone in the area you can be a Go-For for, in exchange for a little field training. That'd probably be a better route to go down. Find a local shooting club and ask the guys down there if they'll teach you some stuff. Instead of looking for more land, look to improve your skill set. If you have land (which I know you do), learn to work that better. Maybe ask someone to come to the permission
