Personally I wouldn't bother. I got one off foxcall.co.uk and it's superb, £9.99 ! Foxcall.co.uk Yep, I have got one of those too, but on the odd one or two it doesn't work and I like the idea of being able to upload your own calls on it. bit silly that you can upload your own calls but can only keep 8. like to no how clear the sounds are. as the decoy.co.uk ones are on sound card. they dont have background interference -
Thanks Snap, replies below... 1. Brass is the same - the original and new batches were both in PPU. 2. Originally they were seated to the same OAL, 2.700. Both batches were originally made with the same OAL and tested. The Winchester had a long throat, so I have reduced to 2.645 to try, but same issue. 3. Full length sizing only, I only have a full length sizing die. 4. Not changed any. 5. They're a pain, as they are light and my work surface rubbish, but I have checked as much as possible, any variance only +/- 0.1 gr 6. That's what I thought. My only worry was that th

I would say that 22 inches is about right, I believe from what I've heard that most of the Mod 595s were 20 inches from new. Bob. im not sure with the powders today thos alot burn 100% before leaving barrel. now so fps is still high but have 100% burn rate -
as above zeiss conquest 6.5x20x50 mag. side px. no4 crosshair which is like the german post recticial. thick crosshairs at 9 ,3 and six, and a thin one at 12. idea deer scope or foxing scope. comes with box and manual, superb condition. £560 posted rmsd. to import one now would cost you alot more once you pay the tax. only selling as i have just got the same model but different crosshair

Not my point, if we talk in terms of power then we should all be using 120mm depleted uranium rounds on rabbits... The .222/.223 debate is a specific niche, because the power and powder requirements of the calibres are so similar. There is no situation when one can be used but the other can't. With, say, 223 vs 22-250, you have lots of considerations such as powder usage and barrel life to consider, but with the 222/223, there is no great difference - 223 is just marginally better and more available. Therefore, why get a .222? fact is mr l you can get 222 very cheap and will do what

i wouldnt worry to much. it prob is there wasnt anything down there. depends on how many ferrets you put down if the bury is very big. the rabbits dont allways bolt there give it the runabout if you only have a couple of ferrets in a massive bury. one of our ferrets is very good and if he is down for a couple of mins you no he is on to something. othertimes he comes up right away which tells me there isnt anything down there.

air rifle is the key. find the hot spots and sit up and pick them off.

yes but i bet he was 1st to complain about the greens being dug up to. if i found out who it was and i ran that club. he would be banned. then again it mite be the paper just saying that trouble making. what has it got to do with the rspca any how. its perfect legal as they no to use rifles on foxes. they should keep there nose out. look at what they get up to arpund the countryside. they take in injuied foxes from the city. patch them up and then release them in countryside ! foxes in the city eat from bins most the time. in the sticks they havent got a clue ! i was told by someo

i was going to have my barrel cut to 22 inchs as its 26 inchs at moment plus the mod to add to that. from what ive seen and been told on quick load you dont really lose that much fps to really no any difference. i waqs told being shorter tho it would be abit snappy. and maybe abit louder. but powder like vit 135 has 100 percent burn rate before it leaves barrel anyhow so shouldnt be to much of a worry. -
we could say that about all rifles ttho. someone says get 22/250 its better then 223. and then someone says get 243 its better then 22/250. then get a 260 its better then 243 and so on. i like some of the older 222 rifles because they are built to very high spec. and the rifles on the marlket now build wise dont compare.

awsome calibre in my opinion i have a tikka t3 lite stainless with t8 mod 2.5-10x 56 scopes wouldnt swap it for the world but am now thinking of 243 as an all rounder. how do you find the 22/250 with a 19 inch barrel ? is it abit more snappy being shorter ? and do you get big flash and muzzle -
whys that the 222 is easy to reload for. very accurate and great foxing round with 40 grain ammo. mild shooting to.
-
its ok the 243 being even flatter then 22/250 and deer legal but the lads question was what foxing rifle. and fact is most forces wont give you 243 just for fox. you have to have deer to. if the hmr sells i mite get 243 as we have just be given permission to shoot roe when the land owner wants them controlled and the in season of course. just have to wait and see.
-
sorry deker i wasnt having a pop at you about it. it depends what mods you got. for instant today i was zeroing my rifle in with some new ammo and my friend mike made comment about the 22/250 noise. he said mine was less noise with the ase mod on it. then a lad he has been shooting with before with 222 and t4 on it. i agree your never really no with out sound meter. and all depends on the surounding area you shoot in.

wicked fox caliber. glad i got mine never sell it now. when timee comes or when i have money spare will get a custom barrel. but in a 1 in 9 twist so i can shoot heavy bullets to -
hi thanks mate but the guy is transweringthe money over as we speak

have a look at sako brass that is pretty good. or if you feel flush by some nostler custom brass
-
deker there is no difference in noise to a 22/250 and a 223. not that you would no the difference when shot side buy side. the ammo is around the same as 223 from what i have seen lately, and alot of different brands are stocked in most stores Lets start by saying again I suggest a 22-250 is the dedicated Fox tool! But Sorry chap, I have to dissagree on noise, I have shot side by side with a .22-250 and the noise issue was apparent immediately! Choice of factory ammo is also wider for .223 than for 22-250, different situation if you are reloading! That's why my choice would be .2

annie 1517 hb hmr, 18 inch barrel, dm80 mod this is the older style dm80 and its superb, sak mod to. 30mm sportsmatch double screw mounts. come with whatever ammo i have left around 50 rounds some federal some hornady red tips. and boresnake. it has the single stage trigger that you can fully adjust, ive adjusted it to a lovely safe pull with no creep. the rifle is very accurate and its had a good amount of rabbits in its time:) looking for £500 which is good value for money if you look at these rifles on guntrader. cheapest i have seen on there is £495 but this is with out

It doesn't work like that, it's down to you and your FEO and the type/topography/situation of the land, many centrefires have the potential to shoot over 3 miles so 50-850 acres is pretty irrelevant! .17HMR is far from an ideal calibre for fox in my mind. My .22lr, .17HMR and .22WMR are all conditioned for fox, as are all my centrefires, bottom line is I rate the .17HMR worst of the lot, yep, even worse than the .22lr! If you are after a 100% dedicated fox gun and you need distance then a 22-250 is the tool, minus side is they are noisy, ammo is limited and expensive and they have the

both as ideal for fox both have more then enough stopping power at longer ranges to. all down to what you want to be fair i dont shoot over 300 yards well not yet as i havent had the chance to on a fox. 235 yards is my longest shot which is still very much easy even with 223. i just like how flat the 22/250 shoots. 1 inch high at 100 yards and its still pretty much flat out to 260 to 280 yards which if you see a fox aim for the top of his back and you can aim bang on.
