reloading becomes just more then getting a good load for you rifle each time we b etter our rifle loads we allways ask ourself can we better it. i can get around 1/2 inch 5 shots with my 22/250 3 shots into maybe abit less. not all the time tho. this is down to my shooting. i think sometimes you just got to be happy and stick to it. if not its true your be spending loads of cash on different powders bullets and brass. your prep your brass different and weigh it. and so on and so on. 1/2 to be is more then good enough for what i need. all i will say is lifes to short to fa

ive got the older model stealth witht he h&s stock on it mate. in 22/250 with a 26 inch heavy barrel. had the standard trigger adjusted and it was pretty good. but at the time i was waiting on a jewell trigger to come fromt he usa. this was before the import laws changed so hard to get stuff from there now. got a bargain that day £125 that jewell cost me. there £200 to £250 pound here. but the best investment and item ive ever added to the winchester. it breaks at a safe 1 lbs accuracy with factory ammo was very good. but with reloads is superb. there reknowned for very goo

ive seen a number of post on the net where people have said there 1 in 10 twist 243 doesnt like 100 grain bullets. it can be a number of things imo i think the main reason could be it says some rifles are a 1 in 10 twist but are they a true 1 in 10. ive seen post where people have check and said theres are over that. and not a true 1 in 10. surely if thats the case would this have some bearing on the accuracy of the heavier bullets ?

dam double post sorry guys

i no what your saying mr l but i wasnt pushing the point of the 22/250 v the 243. what i was getting at is if you use a 243 for the extra speed you get from the 55 grain bullets your not really getting any advatage out of the rifle. you might as well just use the 70 grain bullets. to use what advatage the bigger caliber rifles give you. everyone knows once you start getting over 300 yards to get consistant accuracy you need heavier bullets. on windless days then yes fair comment.

Hi Jamie Don't hold your breath while you are waiting, it will not happen they have just had one review the next one is years away if ever Geordie so be it mate im not to bothered. it would just be nice if they had abit of common sense
-
i wouldnt bother pushing the 55 grain bullets in the 243. yes it will be fast and flat. but a 70 grain is fast and flat for normal foxing ranges. it will hit harder to and be afected less by wind. if you want to push light bullets fast get a 22 centerfire.

Nightforce Scopes.....Amazing !!!
jamie g replied to robbobsam's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
the glass prob isnt as good as the zeiss but nightforce do well bescause they have a massive moa adjustment range. they offer very high mag for benchrest shooters and longrange shooters. and i think the big + is they offer some very good recticals which the target and vermin shooters love. ive looked through one but not in the field. which should change this week as my mate has one on a 6br. im going to have a go with. ive just got a zeiss victory so will put that through its paces and see what the difference is -
i guess there doing the site again. due to the new range of scopes that are out in the zeiss range

i hope it is as a 22 cf is more then powerful enough for a roe deer with he right bullet. There was talk of the .22 CF for Roe (and it was actually included) until the final reading of the 2007 Deer Act Amendment(England & Wales). I struggle to see it being included any time soon, where did you hear of this Talk Ric? there was a lad on a different forum speaking to a member of basc the other day. he seam to think it might be changed soon

For foxing I like my 22-250 a very flat trajectory not so loopy as a .243 and you can use it on Roe deer in Scotland (subject to certain ballstic requirements). But I have to admit that .243 is probablly more suited as an all-round calibre. a .243 with 55gr is flatter than a .22-250 with 55gr yes your right mate. but imo its wasted firing a 55 grain round form a 243. surely if you want a 243 then the choice of heavier bullets would be better. otherwise your not ghaining anything over a 22 cf. dont forget a 243 uses alot more powder then a 222 or 223 and if most foxing is done u

i would get the lightforce there is nothing to beat them imo. yes the wireing isnt the best. but easy sorted. a mate of minw rewired mine. and i have the snap ends on it now. so it cant come off the battery.

get the style mate. the sako rifles are sperb. but the style are very good soild rifles. i had one and sold it. wish i hadnt to be fair it was a cracker. got a annie 1417 22lr now and its spot on. and 14 inch barrel is lovely and compact. there just as dear as the sako tho thats the downside. i no where there is a annie for sale tho for 350 pound ! and its in cracking nick

what scales have you got ?
-
Perhaps you should just clarify that. Whilst .243 MAY be physically capable of taking down a wild boar it is not legally capable of taking down a wild boar, given it does not fall in the min calibre status laid down by the home office. Although I know where your coming from... There is no minimum LEGAL calibre for Boar, the Home Office Guide is a GUIDE!!! ATB!! yes this is right but i dont think the flo will see it like that. they look in there little guide line book. and get stuck in there ways. they will insist on a 270 or above

if you want a bit of a custom rifle then go for a 6br. they say the 6ppc is the king upto 300 yards in bench rest with the 6 br only just behind it. but once you get over 300 the 6br is far better due to pushing heavier bullets better i think for hutning tho you will have to go along way to beat the 243 for what it offers. i was thinking about going for 243 next. but as i hear that the law could be changed soon to alow 22 cf for roe as well. like you can in scotland im holding off on swapping my 22/250 for 243.
