  1. they are good. but i found they hold the hmr rounds better then the 22lr rounds
  2. How? well putting to much powder can as you no go over a max load and become dangerous. yet if you look in the reloading books not going to a minium load can be just as dangrous.
  3. yes mate the rectical thats gets bigger as you turn the mag because its in the 1st focal plain. on scopes where it stays the same size its because its in the second focal plain so remains the same. s&b have pretty thick recticals anyway. so at longer range covers smaller targets like a rabbits head. zeiss conquest is a good scope to look at. 500 pound secondhand. if you can find one. zplex crosshair or 20 rectical as its know. thin enough not to cover a small target. but thick enough so you dont lose it under the lamp
  4. you have to shop about thats a must. my mate got a hmr cz varmint for 355 brand new with 16 inch barrel. its very accurate. we sorted the triggger and he is very happy with it.
  5. Yeah, then add about £60 for a re-proof! if you plan to keep the rifle i wouldnt bother getting it reproofed
  6. if anything it would be dangerous to try make subsonic rounds.
  7. hi mate ive had two of the bushnell elite 4200 tactical rifle scopes. in 6x24x50. and ive used a bushnell 6500 elite tacitical 4.5x30x50 both have superb optics for the money. imo the 6500 has locking turrets which is better. as i found the ones on the 4200 can move easy. all the ones i had and used where mildot. if i [bANNED TEXT] for one again i would get the standard crosshair as im not a big fan of mildots. they only other downfall is the fov is pretty small. and the 30x mag gets abit dull when over 25. other then that there superb and better then leupolds of the same price imo.
  8. some rifles shoot better with a longer col then it states in the books. the book col is so it feeds from the mag properly . if you go over this you mite find you your have feeding problems.
  9. nice secondhand tikka m595 in 22/250. there is a nice one on guntrader. with laminated stock. check the bore is crisp and your have a cracking rifle whith money left over. and a cracking action in case you want a custom barrel in the future
  10. after shooting my 22/250 i just dry patch it out till its clean. then every 15 to 20 shots i use carbon cleaner and bore polish. this removes the top layer of copper so they say. well leaving some in the barrel. so the next cold bore shot is still on target. then every 40 to 50 ish rounds i use the proper carbon remover. and degreaser to flush the barrel then a bit of oil at the end when stored i use the kg stuff or butchers boreshine
  11. you could change the mod for a lighter one. what lenght is the barrel ? ifs its long get it cut down
  12. some tough laws there boys. mind i bet its worth it once you get the grant for them
  13. well really you would be sticking to the law. but its still a fac rifle so prob wouldnt go down well if you did come across the police. dont be put off by it some people get there fac air on ticket open from the start. if you explain your case in the interview witht he flo you mite get it open. this will then let you shoot on any land you have permission over with out having to get the land past each time you get new permission
  14. depends on your are if your flo will let you have hmr for fox. here in west mercia they do. but manchester have stopped it. from what some of the lads have been saying on different forums who live in that manchester area. i shot around 10 foxes with the hmr longest shot was about 85 to 90 yards. i try keep it to at a max. and head shots fox side ways on between the ear and eye is the best place. yes the hmr is 1200fps slower then the 22/250 but bullet weight is the key ! we are talking about a 17 bullet against a 50 grain there is a big difference when that hits. and the ftlb is al
  15. No !i have 55fmj. I wish to take head profile to similar to 50gr s/p. will be ok ? they spend a fortune on development of bullets and you want to take a ginder to the heads. imo fmj should be used for target only if you want to hunt with some bullets get some soft points or bt ammo. as well has being crap accuracy i bet out your rifle ! i bet they wont do the rifling much good !
  16. have a look at the rcbs rockchucker kit to
  17. just be yourself mate tell the truth on anything he asked you of course. and have the reasons why you want the rifles. if he asked explain to him why you really need them. i cant see a prob you getting 22/250 and 17 hmr. but he mite ask why you want a second 22lr. weird i no but some dont like giving two rifles of same caliber. which is silly. just explain to him why you really need them
  18. As said you might be lucky with this post but think for these dies you will need to buy new. As for an AOL gauge just keep any cases with split necks & use these to get a seating depth. I do have a stoney point & dont use it as i prefere the split case neck way. You do need to neck size the case etc first but very good method. There's nowt in it as you know & i dont think general shooters like myself would see a diffrence in accuracy over the redding. i agree the only good thing about the wilson is you can take it to the range or in the field with you if you wanted to
  19. how many rifles and shotguns do you own ? i hear if you have over 10 they like you to have some sort of alam on the hose. or the room there in. the stupid thing about it is if you had 5 rifles and 5 mods that in some firearms departments eyes is classed as 10 ! which is total stupid
  20. nikko for me. never had them but looked at them and they look pretty good. also there a make that have been round for abit so no a thing or to about scopes and lens
  21. get a 17 rod, borguide and patches. some kg1 cleaning stuff and jobs a good un. you only need to use the kg stuff when you have done a good number of rounds. just rod it out with patchs for the mean time. till you feel the need to deep clean it
  22. as long as they have good back grounds. by this i mean not been in trouble with the law them self then your be fine
  23. they do a longer harris pod. but even that wont be good enough by the time the crops are up. what you need is some shooting sticks
  24. if we new how much you had to spend it would be more easyt. mind any factory rifle is more then accurate.
