    to be honest ali had the same views regards integration as a lot of white people have ( white for white, black for black) he always said he never let his daughters marry a white man . i liked him as the best boxer in the world , and being honest his views on race, i go along with as well , i though he was sensible honest bloke, said it for what it really was . how about public speaking to the KKK ablut killing that nig*er i.e. frasier.     Load of bollox mentioning Ali etc. He just didmt have the coverage there is nowadays. Giggs was a good player but manager who knows? And why would Manu even consider a man with zero experience other than 8 games as a stop gap at the end of a season that couldnt get worse? Good on him standing by his guns. I hope he gets a league 1/championship side and does a job. Regards his brother no one on here knows the whole story so how can you judge?

    Im probably guna get a lot of stick for this but I have been reading the Giggsy thread and amazed that people are slating him and mentioning Ali AGAIN as a shining light of what a sportsman should be. I dont get all the hollier than though sh*te about Ali. I know he was good at what he did and he had been and gone by the time I started following boxing but I have watched a lot of old stuff.     This story is a perfect example why gun laws should be tightened not relaxed. I dont have an issue with liscence for everything and any responaible gun owner should not have an objection either. Same with dogs.

    I had a go on trent last night. had 9 chub. one barbel run and got snapped half way down hooklength so must have caught/rubbed summat. Then sat and watched a barn owl for ten mins this mornin in the field at the back of me so still worth the trip even tho no barbel.

    One wrong conviction is, imo, enough, to prevent capital punishment ever being reintroduced. And once the state can kill legally, then a corrupt state can theoretically kill whoever they want. Prison reform on the other hand could make prisons actually pay for themselves, or at least be more cost effective than they are now My new law to introduce is Proportional Representation along with compulsory voting.
