  1. Crate it mine was the same after a while it all stopped but I wouldn't use paper as you will have to train it twice crate it at night it won't want to piss of crap near its bed so will hold as long as poss but pups pee within 15 min of drinking an waking up same for crapping so learn when it needs to go and take it out in time it will let you know when it needs to go all the best with the pup
  2. People will only appreciate what a dog is worth if they have trained a dog from a pup up a high level and if they have ever done this they would buy a pup if they wanted another dog so if someone wants a ready made dog they are never going to fully understand what one is worth
  3. Nothing has had an easy time by me people included im hoping next season will be better well I'm hoping there is still game alive after the floods we have had thousands of acres of prime lush green fields 3ft under water I to wish I could hunt on a little longer due to time lost but think the last thing game needs is being hammerd in a time of natural disaster unless you are out an out pest control
  4. Exactly as above its really young leave out for an extra min if not that is it excited when it comes bk into you ? That could be it mine did it when I came home from work just a dribble it will sort itself out in time
  5. It's a bloody nightmare in the bridgwater area ain't been out since Xmas but even then large parts of the county were under water it's going to be a grim year or 2! Think I will have to travel next winter
  6. That's brilliant!!! my missus wanted to dress up my young pup in some bloody Halloween costume an take the boy out trick or treating the dog would have loved it I would be quite upset If I caught them ;-) but yes I thought the worst when opening the thread but was plesently suprised ;-)
  7. My bull cross became more gutsy with age up to 3 months anything would scare the shit out of him but now at 10 months he more than holds his own silent but has guts never barked unless you really wind him up somthing that my boy try's to do quite often :-)
  8. I'm quite new to pup training mine was simalar up to 6months just gave him a few toys once he picked his fav I used that for the training he likes it you throw it he picks it up because it's his and he wants it then he should bring back to you if he is around you all the time he will want to come bk to you if he won't bring bk to you once you have him chasing and picking up try it in an alley way so he had to go past you then take it off him with plenty of praise and treat or click if clicker training that's what I would do if that doesn't work I'm sure some of the more experienced chaps on th
  9. I read in the paper a cock fighting farm was busted in Kent and cops found stolen dogs dnt know if it anywhere near you SF hope your dog turns up for you no one deserves that atb
  10. I also wonder what the outcomes were there was much hype at the time but it's fizzled out I hope they did manage to get there dogs bk
  11. If it's worth mentioning my dog was stung by a wasp and was carrying his Leg for too long on the way home so thought might have had a reaction so took to the vet got checked over gave advice cost £12 not bad imo
  12. Mine is bull whip X colly grey 20tts 10months very fast turns on a sixpence when he older will suit me very well for what I do my mates have a wide range of crosses all work well some Xs are bed grey colly dh and grey colly Xdhgrey some are saluki grey and a few more that have been crossed so many times I'm not sure what they are wide range of crosses to do the same job on the same land all depends what you want in a dog
  13. Is there a rough ratio to work to mines on dry and supplement with mince, chicken , fish pasta and veg I'm good with how much mine eats but would like to know a rough ratio to aim for how much meat to pasta to veg as I would like to cut out the dry or reduce if poss
  14. Thank you I just love doing what I do and would be broken if I could not carry on as per normal this is why I would rather ask a question than end up another idiot who's cocked it up for hunters
  15. Yes I appreciate what you are saying but uk law is a complicated thing so many loop holes it's not cut an Dried in every instance in all honesty I think if you ask a question no mater how silly it may seem to some better to ask on a forum such as this because if I was caught doing said act and in my defence I said I didn't know I'm sure people would have said why didn't you ask we would have told you!!! But instead you have brought our sport into the spotlight in a bad way !!!
  16. I was out today walking the dog at this place I'm on about and not long got home when I posted yh I may get an answer out of them but all depends on if they have had a reason to want to hunt public land otherwise they may not have known
  17. Me ? 10 months but don't run him much 1 maybe 2 runs a night go out with a few friends who have older seasoned dogs who run all night thought I'd get that in before I'm hammerd for owning a young dog
  18. I bet they do :-) I can't believe the grief I'm getting for asking a quiestion if I'm not alowed to do it I won't simple but how will anyone learn anything if they don't ask questions I do pity anyone thinking of taking up this sport if they get hammerd every time they ask a question there is the future of your sport my friend when no one new takes it up its game over in my opinion
  19. I only asked because I was not sure I was not on about a local playing field I was on about an area only used for dog walkers cyclists and walkers set aside for public recriation miles from anywhere i don't know every single law in the uk this is why I asked better to be called stupid for asking and then deciding not going to do that rather than doing it anyway and getting caught with your pants down as would many many of the people on here not caring about permission
  20. I know this has probably been asked before but can I legally hunt rabbits with my lurcher on public land I'm not on about daytime mishaps I'm on about going out with a lamp purposely to hunt rabbits not trying to lie an say oh sorry I was just walking my dog with my lightforce lamp any answers would be great also who would be able to challenge me if I was to hunt public land
  21. To answer for a newcomer to the sport yes it's a pain in the ass but I've been lucky enough to watch dogs on the lamp for years and as soon as I moved out of parents home I got my first and I love it I would go as far as to say I will never stop I have the bug it's so exciting flicking the lamp on that gentle tug on the lead an he's off chase on nothing like it the twists turns escapes of prey it's magic
  22. Look nxt post down I wrote before reading latest posts there's a link on there and more info on dogs post title cock fighting ring bust kent
