  1. I would go as far as to say I don't think you will get working dog insurance at all def not that you can afford if your worried about big vet bills just get pet insurance and use it for major injurys the rest just pay for or do yourself as advised in other comments
  2. What you think the next fashion dog will be? I still think the next will have bull in it but won't be directly viewed as a bull cross....So what do you think it will consist of ?
  3. I agree they have a bad name with most due to what you say being in fashion ;-) lol
  4. I own one and can say that I was a lucky one with what I ended up with there was a few pups I've seen pics of from the litter mine was from and they were very bull heavy lumps ended up in non working homes as would have been useless but I'm extremely happy with mine even mates who hate bull crosses have been impressed with what he has done
  5. Like I've said I dnt care how fast mine is I know it's got it in it to catch any game I put him on and I'm not after bragging rights we all see what happens to them dogs that get bigged up on here ! The point I was on about was I'm in awe at the speed of lurchers if mines slow as fk or not I dnt care I was just asking if anyone has ever clocked there's
  6. U got me wrong I dnt care how fast my dog runs being a lurcher is not all about speed it's catching it's game whatever that may be I was just suprised when I found out how fast it did run and wonderd if anyone else knew what an average lurcher ran just to satisfy a curiosity
  7. Fair point so 34 mph still nt bad if that's the case I know if I stuck my head out of the window at that speed and tryed to concentrate on somthing the size of a rabbit I'd have no chance lol speed camera now there's an idea lmao
  8. As above was just wondering what is fast for a lurcher I know grey dominant crosses will be rapid an first crosses not so quick I ask as I clocked my small ish 22tts bull/whip Xcolly/grey on the beach at 37mph I wasn't pushing him at all the dog was miles away with the boy I drove over and got the boy leaving the missus maybe 300 400 yards away give or take she was shouting like fk as women do an the dog was off I caught up along side him held steady and and clocked 37mph I was shocked I've seen fast dogs in the field but never really appreciated how fast they are running anyone clocked there

  10. I'm going to put up a card in a few local farm stores for free pest control rabbits rats crows pigeons and alike mainly rabbits by ferreting lamping with lurchers but happy to take on any task to gain /keep permission my question is to people who may have done this before or anyone with an idea is how best to word such an advert if free agricultural pest control will do happy days but I think it may not
  11. That's a stunning pup strongbow also love your boots ;-)
  12. Me too my missus asked for one I said get one if it gets past the dog on the way out I can assure you it won't make it bk in ;-) yep b heading for the hutch for ferret food lol ;-)
  13. I like the analogy go a pit and AK47. Many aspire to own one. Most have no real need for one. And in the heat of battle most wouldn't be able to handle one eitherI've never seen a pit in action but imagine it's got a kick like an ak47 lol but it's true both are status symbols and I bet both are in the uk as we speak
  14. a bloody plummer terrierLol I see I was wrong again has a bloody Plummer terrier got more gaminess than a normal Plummer ? :-)
  15. I think if nothing has happend by now not to worry how does anyone prove it was your dog that killed the cat ? Maybe try again with the person in a week or so but be carefull nxt time chap
  16. No not at all but law of averages says people own them you can't own a hand gun in the uk but people do I bet someone has an ak47 in the uk illegal as fk but it's an icon so demand is there people will want to own one
  17. If you had a dog bred that way, then best kept out of the public eye, and choose your vet wiselyMe I've only got a standard bull/whip(staff) Xcolly /grey but I read in the papers all the time that pits are all over the country so makes me wonder how many lurchers have pit in them ?
  18. Prob off topic a little but an American pitbull in the uk is a type of breed that is banned yes ? Well I've read online that it is the characteristics of said dog that determin the ban not DNA of the breed ie head shape ,muscle structure and what ever else they use to determin if it is a banned dog so my question is if this is the case would a first or second cross pit / grey lurcher loose enough of these characteristics to become legal if my thoughts are way off the mark please enlighten me I personally would have thought the police would use DNA testing to prove one way or another but I
  19. If it's not inline with the rest during movement surly it's a break waiting to happen ? When running turning or jumping just a thought
  20. Can't see it being much use to be honest as for spotting wildlife after dark it's brilliant close range as the standard IR lamp/ led on most NV that normal people can afford are shite but if you bought a good IR illuminator that will extend vision massively! I base my opinions on a mid price range gen 1 monocular
  21. Skycat you really are a wealth of information never thought of a dog eating it's own crap because it smelt simalar to complete lol I always thought it was a behaviour thing being scared to crap because you shout at them so they eat the evidence are Hancocks really fed like that ? I was considering one from them one day might not bother if that's how there treated I wouldn't feed my ferrets like that
  22. It will come with time as for being sick I never had that mine kicked off at night untill I gave him an old teddy to cuddle into a radio on quiet or a clock that ticks under his bed or all of the above also maybe a hot water bottle it may be missing its litter mates that have been replaced by you then you leave it may explain the being sick if your desperate try some or all of them things but think the trick is to leave them if they whine and it will stop eventually
