  1. Yes similar to me mate and I agree, sadly there is no way of prooving Previous experience without them having a paper trail of evidence.
  2. Very true but I dont think I'd like to place anything like that in the hands of private security as I think they're inadequate and as I work security for the MOD I know they're incompetency... Just look at there ( g4s ) mess on the Olympics. When you start going private you take control out of the state but I see what you mean.
  3. J_Edwards I've heard mentoring has been binned altogether, that said none of them sing from the same hymn sheet, my mates took 9 months but then he did move house in between. Tbh I think there starting to realise the arduous task they've taken on and are incapable of doing it!.. I think things will be easier for us in the future but that just means because its easier and less time consuming for them.
  4. Well it wasn't a complete loss for me, no bloody charlie tho and the nitesite got me a few (impressed with my purchase) still way to quiet and skittish on this land being that there's lots of conies around. Oh well no pictures but I got 5 and two were kits no bigger than my hand out just over the 100 yrd point.
  5. I've recently purchased the wolf and it has I believe 3 integral IR's on the front of the screen intake, for general spotting I have a Yukon 4 x mag nv monocular but also carry my p7 lenser with interchangeable filters. From what I've read I don't need anything else or any additional ir but I guess I'll find out soon enough.
  6. Its a nitesite wolf, are you suggesting I use an additional IR which doesn't come with it?
  7. Yeah there's half the report from a .223 compared to a .243 Elliot..its a lot easier mate.
  8. Good info ianm, I'm out with my nitesite tonight for a big session myself, having come close a few times I'm hoping this gives a better advantage as its not easy doing all this on your own but ever more satisfying when everything goes right.
  9. I think we'll end up taking multiple callers with us when we go out as its quite common that some arnt reactive to certain ones and then they are other times.
  10. Lots of techniques for foxing dan, try a few ideas mate.
  11. Hey Dan don't get disheartened mate, they're Wiley creatures and can be difficult and very shy, I've just purchased a nitesite wolf to help me with after dark work on both rabbits and fox and although really pricey at £640 I'm sure it will help me out tomorrow night on a big session out for the first time with it...I'll keep you posted but keep trying mate and remember not to over do the foxing and give them chance to come back if you've been rumbled by them as this has happened to me also mate.
  12. Good job mate, I'll be out tomorrow night trying out my new nitesite wolf so fingers crossed I guess.
  13. Normally use these and winchester as my hunting ammo, been awhile since I bought them as I havnt used my .22 for awhile but only the hmr recently...good job I've got about 4-5 boxes left.
  14. Semi autos are really fussy mate and I don't know if they will or won't but I can only assume segmented are similar to dum dum rounds, unless they are grooveless or without any ridglines in the round head I can only assume they won't be as good but all that said I could be wrong mate as every rifle may be different.
  15. Jesus Christ mate if there all gone you'll cry later ha ha...cracking job mate wish I had these numbers!
  16. In a bolt action you can get away more freely with experimentation...I've obviously got a semi auto and doubt they'll work in mine.lol
  17. Ha ha..in the forces they tought us that the wind shouldn't effect at 100ms and they use 55 grain fmj, that said it looks good mate and the problem is when on top magnification its always quite hard That's why I've settled for a 4-16 even if I don't always use it on the top mag its still so much easier atleast on the 100m point.
  18. Yep certainly is , my mate has a hawke 3-9 on his .223 Aug and its good enough for a starter so no rush if you ain't got a better one.
  19. Had a short session out Tuesday night and managed a headshot at 150 yards on the only rabbit of the night, dissapointed tbh I had the opportunity for Charlie and the crafty git got luck, also found it very hard using the night vision monocular since all the lights of the town and main road lampposts made it impossible to scour the fields with my nv and resorted to old school lay and wait tactics.
  20. What you looking for?, anything specific or just generally looking around and not decided yet
  21. Very good you may well be right and its been awhile since even i have used the ins and outs of the data protection act so im abit rusty with it myself as my job role has altered slightly, I think it has to do with the intention of what its there for but also filming and taking photos of mod establishments can still be subject to having the footage removed from the individual who has taken the pictures or video footage...again something for the police to deal with I think.
