    Well, at the risk of offending anyone, I've seen a few first crosses over the years and they all had one thing in common, they couldn't run a message. Second cross, more greyhound was an improvement but the best deerhound lurchers I seen had something else in their makeup, collie etc.

    Each to their own, every man has his own method of exercise and how much to give. I haven't used a bike ever, or a treadmill for that matter.     I tell you what else I always thought was unfair, paying an increased tax rate on a second job. Years ago when I worked in the pubs a lot of the barmaids etc were nurses and other occupations and the bar work was only for a bit of pocket money. So whilst they spent a large part of their social life working, probably serving non workers they were getting hammered with tax for the pleasure of it. The ones quickest to decry them for having two jobs and it being their own fault were usually the ones not working through choice.

    At the end of the day the man who owns the pups can price them as he sees fit, however I don't see many lurchermen paying that kind of money for a dog which in all probability won't be the equal of a well bred lurcher which would cost a fraction of the asking price.
