    I put walnut cooking oil bottle into a hot water bath then apply it. Keeps the oil warm!!

    Quick write up from the other night out with Mac. Finally got an OK to take someone onto site at work, even if it is a little late (given I’ve taken 40+ rabbits since Jan and Mixy has had a good crack too). We decided to check out a different perm first to kill time (still have a no shooting until site is clear rule at work). So we went down the farm fields around 6:30pm and split up to cover the back field. Both Mac and I were on new pellets and it was in both our heads. My pellets were heavier than my normal ones, Mac’s lighter…. But either way, it certainly messed with our heads. Funny

    Shots 120 top end. I get 8 mags from mine. Pellets H&N FTT, Weihrauch F&T specials, JSB exact for the 8.5gr ish range. H&N barracuda or Weihrauch Magnum for the heavies 10.5gr ish. Don't go light weight nothing round the 6-7gr.

    The HW magnum isn't the same as the H&N Barracuda match (Do they do a Barrcuda that isn't "match"?), they are different weights, the inside of the skirt is different and the head of the pellet also different. I haven't tried Bisley Magnum, but I must admit, I was happy enough with the HW magnums last night. Even if I over compensated on a couple of shots..... grrrr. I'll see how I get on with the Magnum and Barracudas before I look at the JSB/Daystate. Given they are lighter, I might stick with the lightly heavier HW.

    I'll have to get up the range. My garden is only 25 yrd! Mac had a pop at a couple last night on my perm. Poor lad was in a state, left his glasses at home so couldn't spot owt beyond 50 yrds and he'd changed his pellets so that got inside his brain too! I used the Magnums last night, zero at 30 yrds and found that even out to 45 yrds, the drop was MINIMAL, not even half a mildot (mind these are only 10.5gr or so). I only managed to get a couple of smallish rabbits but the pellets went through the skull on both occasions. With the 8-8.5gr pellets, more often than not, at 20-40 yrds, the pelle

    That makes sense. I'm hoping that at ground level, there will be little wind haha. On the flip side, you have to compensate like hell for drop on .22 versus a flat .177 swings, roundabouts? I watch Mac shoot last night a good 50 yard and the loop was incredible. From top of the arc to point of barrel or point of impact, must be a good foot!!

    I'm oot with the Mac tonight and I've used up my normal pellets. As a lover of the H&N FTT or the Weihrauch F&T specials, I've always gone for the mid-weight pellets, found them perfectly good out to 50 yrds for the bunnys. However I always ready about the lads on here with the heavy pellets and even more so, the fat-fingered-0.22 boys using 18-19gr pellets. So I bought a couple of tins of heavies (well, heavy for 0.177) and I can't decided which to use now!! These are all off the bipod with my HW100T, at 25 yrds, no wind. 10 shot groups. * The JSB Exacts were a comparison.

    Norfolk Police response, rings my mobile, "Is it you that can be seen from the road carrying a gun?" my response "Why yes officer!", Norfolk Police response "Oh good, thought it was, will just ring them back and let them know you are doing nothing illegal. Many thanks!" They do not have to send a unit round, they can respond by phone, pays to carry the mobile with you! Yeah exactly how Norhumbria police deal with me! I used to have the mobile on silent, now its not and I live with teh change of a text from teh wife saying "when you coming home" haha
