  9. Heres my take on it I would by any means say i am an expert but I have done a brother and sister mating and will explain my reasons in doing so and the resulting litter ...I and a few others were needing some pups on the ground I had seen many bitches run but if I was totally 100% honest with myself there was nothing I saw that I thought I would have a pup out of ...I saw a couple of bull coss bitches that I rated very highly and were very very good at their job but the bull cross route I didnt want to take for my type of lurcher work . Tiggers sister Rosie was a decent bitch that I had seen
  10. Im looking where to get the above rail for my.22 savage mark 11 to mount my yukon but cant find anywhere in the Uk ....anyone help cheers in advance
  11. Salmon and sea trout fishing ,mink hunting and dusk and dawn stalking is what summer is about for me ....Ive two new pups coming into the yard so a bit of training for them and some finishing off training for the GWP...
  12. Its the same every single year from Jan feb march ...rape and other brassicas ...they dont actual like it or do well on it same as geese.. infact when we have a bad winter up here and that is all thats above the snow for a long period it can kill large numbers
  13. Well, that every species of British game covered, both feather and fur, on land, under land and in water, LOL.It was a handy little pack that but it changes when you get a pointer ....he is more work than the other 5 put together
  14. Most of the pools have changed Ali on the whole river ...time will tell when there's a few fish about on how they fish ....lost a good fish the other day and one of our syndicate lads had on on Thursday
  15. Anyone needing chips pm me
  16. Alive ? You wish, LOL.You probably would have ended up standing there watching your dogs go up the far bank after him. Mind you, I would love to have seen them when they retrieved the shot fox back to you. I'm confident the lurcher would of dealt with it no problem s at all he also good in the water and I'm sure the terrier would of done the job ...it would of been a site to see for sure .
  17. Defo no Plummer he is dug too regularly ..lol
  18. He has been out on the mud in the morning and been dug to the same day on a few occasions Neil...last year I was out for first light a few hundred yards downstream from where the vid was taken on the sawbill cull and new something was about from the way the dogs were acting ....the spot I was at becomes an island at the point of it and a fox came bouncing towards me it was between me and the dogs and when it saw its escape was blocked by me it took to the river and started swimming ...it was only about 10-15 yards away and I shot it and both a lurcher and terrier retrieved it from the water .
  19. That's a few years ago mate ....he will be 10 in August he still does a few miles behind the truck near every day but at his own pace ....and has done a few bits of graft last season and loved it ...not bad for a wrecked old cur with 3 pins in his back hok
  20. Like I've said he is a very very handy wee dog to have a round you and I nearly moved him on as I didn't like him as a pup ....he was very easy to train and a natural retriever always carrying something ...but when he started grafting and realised he had a purpose he came out of his shell and we got on better ....he knows his job and we have some very big rangey spots up here that he has found in when other terriers have failed to stop anything .....works well in water with the mink hounds but too hard for hunt days .. He has proved his worth over and over to me and others and need to get him
