    I really cannot believe that you didnt know the dog is involved in the up bringing of cubs FD but you dont seem convinced ....as for the dog only being vocal during the rut I can guarentee you he will call to the vixen if he sences danger ....that particular litter on the previous post we accounted for the vixen with the cubs and I have been in the game long enough to know the differance between a vixen and dog call and like I have already said many a cold night I have spent out on the hill listening to the dog and vixen call to each other warning of our presence ...One thing is for sure and I

    It amazes me as I get older I see how differant people see things in differant ways....opinions I suppose its called ....I saw that fight as a young and up and coming British heavy weight who has a everything a fighter could want physiaclly and mentally ....beating the current heavyweight champion a big tricky south paw infact not beating him knocking him out in the 2nd round .....but thats maybe I see things in a positive way and others are always looking for the negatives .....

    Know what you are saying BUT how many of those waits resulted in a dog being shot ,not many ill wager .The vixen is the target for any keepers and any dog hanging about is a bonus .You cant tell me keepers wait up especially to get any dog fox .Regardless of whether the dog feeds a litter or not ,get the vixen and its game over ime or does the dog then pick up the feeding ,along with an aunt .I think a few have a case of tinted glasses on the subject but as always i wont force my opinion on anyone lol.Like i said ,this year i aim to set up 3 trail cams on litters to see if any other adults joi

    I have camped out on the hill many a night as a young keeper waiting for the dog to come in and I can guarentee you all this month there are young keepers freezin their tits off doing the same

    Scrub with hot soapy water and nail brush ...then get chemical mould and mildew remover especially for the gaps in skull plates as peroxide wont totally remove this when whitening the skull and will leave dark marks in gaps .... Do not bleach the skull untill you have stained the horn it is best to cover the skull with new paper paper and tape it up so you dont get stain on it Never used brown shoe polish I use pertasium permanginate and oils ....like I say its very time consuming and requires a lot of rubbing and sanding the tips so it blends in and looks natural ...     Interesting you say that mate .Of all the dens ive watched over the years ive never seen a dog approach with food or have anything to do with the cubs which lead me to believe the dog plays no part in the rearing of them .This season i am going all out to prove or disprove this with trail cams ive just bought .Finding a litter thats not in mortal danger in these parts is tricky though . Cmon FD so you are saying the dog doesnt help the vixen rear cubs???

    I dress a lot of heads for lads and also bleach and stain old heads similar to yours it takes a bit of time but worth it .....this is the only pic of a head I done about 12 years ago it was in similar condition to yours
