nice Mik but do you have to access their sleeping boxes via the dogs entrance, or is there another, easier way The sleeping quarters are all lined with king span boards then 12 MM ply ....with a raised bed built from ply with a board at the front to stop drafts in the winter ...access is from the top with a ply lid you can see on the end 2 kennels in the pic ...they are south facing so the dogs are stretched out in the sun during the day ....

Out first thing this morning for daylight coming in only 2 hours sleep ...saw this lad just of a barley field ..gave him a few calls but he wasn't interested .....there was a lot of flat ground between us so had a fair bit of crawling in the wet grass so I was in range ...got into about 150 yards and dropped him with a neck shot .

Here's a pic of the block work on mine before the roof and the sections went up ....drainage imp is very important I have a channel at the end run that runs into a soak away also I have one entrance gate to all the runs that is always locked ...something else you have to think about these days

Out tonight and my mates plr 500 got trampled on by cattle ...I will just leave this fukin pile of shite here ...were his words ...as I said it got trampled and the front glass came off but it's a better beam now ....but still shite imo ...but if any of you lads want to try it. It is a better beam now .

I was over the moon and a bit of relief as this fish was in charge with the little switch rod ....if I had hooked it in the spring it would of gave a better amount of itself

I would say so he has been in for a long time and was only a mile from the sea and a long way from the breeding reds..I would of loved to have hooked him when he was silver ....

Took the young lad fishing tonight 4th cast with a big black and red cone head Francis tube I got a good take and the fish took off to the tail of the pool so I handed him the rod ...then it turned in the shallow water and we seen the size of it ...fuk me weeman you better give me that rod back .....what a fight on the 11ft switch rod took me to the backing 3 times and 15 mins later I had this on the bank ....lost 2 more but that didn't bother me I was more than happy with this chap ...returned to pass on his genes .

I find it funny when you hear lads saying that they own labs and spaniels that kill foxes ...I had a lad say that many years ago and I give him the oppertunity to show me ...lets just say the dog didn't want to know and if a dog of that type was to catch old Charlie it would of been a very poor specimen for the dog to catch it in the first place

After owning aGWP I won't have any other breed of gun dog now as I've said before I have never been more frustrated in my years of training and owning dogs but that was more down to me and not the dog as I was trying to do too much too early but when they are ready they are a joy and I would go as far to say very easily trained was you understand them . A lad I've done a fair bit with who is a member on here and has worked everything from lurchers,hounds terriers gun dogs I was speaking to last week and he hit the nail on the head for me he said I have got myself a lab ...it's like watching p

And one thing is for sure it will be a running dog dam over a spaniel or lab sire as gun dog lads are very money driven when a comes to pups

Like I say you seem to have already made your mind up ...I have a dh/sal/grey/bull that will crash through cover,hunts up well ,has a decent nose ,is steady as a rock ,retrieves from water In fact I would go as far as to say he is stronger a swimmer than most gun dogs I have seen and I have been around gun dogs all my life and he will be out on the mud with me on the 1st when the wildfowling season starts he will do anything a spaniel or lab cross will do in the water but there are things he will do that no gun dog cross will do and that's the difference ....imo it's giving your lurcher the op

Had a nice sea trout over the 2 lb mark and a big hen fish both landed by the weeman allowed to continue her journey ....there was a huge coloured fish showing I would say was close to 30 in the same pool hopefully connect with him tomorrow
