  1. Hi Foxdroppings, No buddy, not that I noticed but I did find hoof tracks. I followed them in that cold mist and managed to get a hurried snap shot. I`m not sure if these or your big putty tats are on the GL`s though ?
  2. Well lads with all this snow I thought I`d get out and check the new permission for hot spots,- where are the warrens ? As I previously mentioned, I know there are rabbits as all the signs are there. What I need to find is large concentration of rabbit tracks. This is a long stretch of railway embankments with a good 80ft drop down to the track with bramble all the way along so I`m blind to where the warrens are on my side of the steel fence but not now that the snow has fallen. So I walked the entire length of this line
  3. I`m not complaining Rez I`m `avin that medal of honour xx. ( don't ask me to do it again too soon though) twat !
  4. Sorry for your loss Jimmy, only pop into the forum now and then of late and just picked up on your sad loss. As the boys have said Jim cracking memories, photos, you take a rest and if you feel like getting out, do so buddy at your own pace. My thoughts are with you mate, Mark.
  5. Took the 1978 FWB Sport 124 for a walk about pretending I was 16 again ( I wish) Anyway got this one free standing at just on 30 yards. atb Mark.
  6. German Short Hair for me, my lad is a do it all dog, misses nothing and a powerful breed. Very loyal, great watchdogs too, he absolutely hates foxes.
  7. Aye up Jeff , The older HW`s are a joy to own buddy as I`m sure you know. Anyone wanting a top quality spring piston rifle, buy Weirauch
  8. That Hornet sounds excellent, who was shooting it ? x
  9. Recently acquired HW80 MK1, .22 on summer Hen house egg taking prevention.
  10. Compliments John, nice shooting buddy
  11. Took my dog for a long leisurely walk this morning, sticking to the roads and giving all the mud a miss. Well I came across a farmer, Ken, who last year granted me permission to shoot part of his land. We again talked country matters, as you do but when he realised I have been taking care of the surrounding farms for years and mostly very quietly with air rifles he said " Well Mark you might as well look after our lands as well " He only gave me permission to shoot a further 1,400 acres !!
  12. The sub 12 ft/lb HW 100`s in any format are that good its almost unfair.
  13. Oh Jimmy, I know exactly how you are feeling buddy. Be strong for her and your family mate. Mark.
  14. Oops, sorry Jimmy, I presumed you were better than the water pistols and cork guns by now. X
  15. Jimmy for a 12 ft/lb air rifle the Primos shooting sticks fitted with the two point gun rest is perfect for a static hunter.
  16. Took Kaiser and my old lady for a leisurely stroll across the farm this morning, very little about really, a few Jays, a few wood pigeons etc but seeing a covey of 5 grey partridges lift from the same field twice on consecutive days gives me a little hope. I`ve got to watch the corvid numbers as they are way higher after the " Peck-em saga " One less threat to the game birds/ song birds anyway, a grey taken at roughly 28 yds, free standing, so perfect range for the .22.
  17. I head shoot ducks regularly. Only saying like.
  18. Hi Paul, Look up optically centring a rifle scope with a mirror - TOMCAT airguns on you tube - that should go a long way with your problem as ratting is short range work. This will give you much more to play with when zeroing the rifle/ scope combination. Good luck buddy
  19. Hi Gaoler, I also have the HW97K but in .177 flavour and Sandwell internals and mirror polished, feck me what a rifle she is, I`ve taken a hillside of vermin with her, often thought about a .22 HW97K to compliment her as you do. HW springer, break barrel, which one should you buy ? ( oh no, here we go ) Lots of opinions buddy, spoke many times with some well known RFD`s and the HW 98 and HW95 Luxus get many a mention. I use the HW 80. MK1 .22, break barrel, untouched, if you can find one- buy it ! One of the finest spring p
  20. Aye up Phil, It was Mitch who put me onto the F.A.P and Express and I soon found him to be right ( for once ). Seriously, I won't use any other now. Not sure Phil but the JSB RS are a very close if not the same pellet as F.A.P - sure I read that some where ?
  21. JSB Exact Express 7.87g, 4.52 through all my rifles, extremely accurate and hard hitting. Falcon Accuracy Plus 5.52, 13.43g through all my .22`s.
  22. Nice shooting Jeff Good to see a few photos too buddy. atb. Mark
