My first wife was (is?) a Londoner, and I'm from Nottingham, so when I used to lament that ' My wife just doesn't understand me'........................... It gets worse for me, her dad was a total hammers fan and a good darts player, so she is very London if you know what I mean, when she's had a few the old classics come out.....................anything by chas and Dave, especially "there aint no pleasing you", she then has a go on the spoons.....................I am not making this up.....................it is actually true, followed by a rendition of "London Girls"....................

Everyone acting like f*****g calibods, none of em got a Danny.......................... ..............its ok, my wifes a Londoner, she translated this and assures me that I have just complimented everyone

Its the hardest decision in the world, a heart breaking, gut wrenching thing to have to do but it's the last, good thing you can do for them, to ease their passing is the least we owe our four legged mates. Good luck and great looking dog by the way, all the best to you and her

My boy is 15 now and not long back he lied at school about me and I had the police and social services round the house, I was gutted and really angry an upset........................he has his moments, no one really wants to look after him and every other day I find myself thinking............you little f****r. The thing is, if I give up on him, who is gonna be there for him. My life to be totally honest would be an awful lot easier if I did give up on him, but I cant, along with his mum, i'm all hes got. I'm not his biological father but it makes no difference to me, I made a commitment and I

When I met my wife she talked about macker meat and cali bods, was like a different language to me, the other stuff like cushty etc she dosent use at all, neither does her family and their as London as anyone...................the whole thing confuses me ................on second thoughts I think I'll stay out of it ........................I don't know enough about London lingo to get too deeply into it, I just know that its a bit confusing

The whole point here is that whether girl or boy, the teacher is older and is paid to be responsible for the child whilst in their care, its a massive breach of trust. If the boy or girl is 16 then the law wouldn't be broken anyway.............I think, but professionally the teacher has shown that they are not worthy to be in the profession. Also the minimum age is there to protect children from making decisions that they are not emotionally prepared for..............boy or girl I don't think it makes any difference..........the teacher is older and wiser and it would be easy to manipulate a t

What like?? Should I wear the red dress or the green one with the pretty frills.......!!? On a serious note, save the red one for Saturday night and bin the green one, so last year ............don't forget to accessorise

Its the same principle as in the film Apocalypse Now, we fight by a certain set of rules but they don't and you are never gonna win in the very long term like that...........................like the saying from WW2.................................nice men don't win wars, at some stage if you want to beat the real s**t, you have to do whatever's needed. We are way too liberal and they know it, in fact they use it against us IMO and its probably quite controversial on here, not all Muslims are bad, in fact the extremists despise Muslims that live the western lifestyle as much as they do non

Ferretting With The Dog And Stopped By Police ??
Huan72 replied to dommorris92's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I would like to think that this post was just a bit of carried away bravado but every post of this type is another nail in the coffin of our freedom...........................you really wouldn't want anyone to form an opinion on hunters by reading posts like this. Half the time I think people don't really mean it when they post them, but think that they will be well received.....................such posts are always a mistake -
not much you can say about that.................................its good to see that the old English tradition of fair play and a sporting chance are alive and kicking........................people really are a source of constant disappointment

Crickey..............even the choice of illumination when out and about is being dictated to the public. They really will be rationing and charging for oxygen next. What about high powered led/cree led hand held torches, is there a maximum lumens level allowed when travelling the countryside at night.
-
I suppose that to a helicopter with thermal imaging, people in the country side at night are gonna stick out like a sore thumb, so if the chopper is passing over and seems to linger it may well be just checking to see if any crime is being committed, you know burglary of country properties etc. I cant imagine that a chopper would be tasked to catch the odd chap who is going after a few rabbits etc, Choppers and planes cost a lot to keep in the air but yeah If property is being destroyed like fences and things, it will definitely draw attention from the sky. Also if you see a chopper/plane and

The stuff of legend and what's all this about lots of bangs but no meat........sounds a bit rude....... .........................

Fantastic poem, never truer than of WW2, if we had lost, God only knows, my granddad was an RSM during that all over Europe, from the BEF right through to the end, he died when I was a baby so don't really know him.....................but in my mind he is like a god to me

Natural and supernatural.....................its all just natural to me.........................science is just catching up with old wisdom........................right wheres my mushrooms

Old Tom Bombadil was a jolly fellow, bright blue his jacket was and his boots were yellow From memory but yeah a very strange character I think its that he was like Gandalf, not a person but a spirit in human form and that even though he had the power to protect his woods from evil, he was not powerful enough to have the ring and not be corrupted by it. Also I know that Tolkien had concerns about the loss of the English countryside to urban sprawl so I wonder if Bombadil was designed to reflect the whole nature spirit type thing

Totally agree about the films, I do like the Lord of the Rings films but they are not a patch on the book, there is so much raw emotion missing, reading that book I laughed, felt loss and sadness, fell in love with Arwen, wished I was as noble as Aragorn, it wasn't just a good read it was a full on emotional journey.......................................... quite a lot of the actual story was missing as well

Lets be honest..................we don't really help ourselves.................politicians need votes and will do whatever is required to keep them or get more and the general publics perception of hunting is not good which makes it a target for the politicians. The publics perception on hunting is created by the media and interested organisations in all there forms, both anti hunting and pro hunting, its just that the anti hunting people do a far better job of relaying their message to the public...................now i'll get to the point, some of the posts put up on this very site are absol

Agree with the draft and damp thing, also remember things like your dogs getting wet and then putting them away, they loose body heat something like 25 times quicker when wet. Also important is coat, body fat and build or breed. A short stocky dog, with a good coat will do much better than a greyhound for instance, the worst body shape for cold weather is tall and thin, a large surface area compared to its weight, so body heat is radiated out. I haven't got kennels but if I did they would be heated, probably on a timed thermostat. But if they are warm and draft free, then no problems, I would

It took me a long time to read and at times was actually hard work..............but for me that was part of the experience, just a glutton for punishment I guess
-
I know the films have been made and the book is getting on a bit, but if you haven't read it..................The Lord of the Rings...................everyone needs to read this book IMO. It draws you in like no book I've ever read. The silmarillian as well, an epic book. I read them when I was a lot younger and I can honestly say they actually had an influence on how I've led my life..................read them deeply and they are absolutely outstanding.

If its that bad, stock being killed etc, there is a fair chance that the old spy in the sky may well be around from time to time, some forces have a country watch section so it may be worth a call. Once the fact that your legit is on the old computer system it will come up in any checks that they may do on your registration plate.

I know him.. He did used to live in Gosport, but moved over there.. He`s not a bad guy to be fair, them rotti`s we`re rescues, he got them at 8 months, kept in crates, drinking from water bottles.. The original owners bought them for a pair of 8yr old twin girls birthday present. As soon as they got big the family crated them and kept them in the garden. So you cant knock him really. But yeah, if Ceaser was about, he`d prob try and shag his leg.. See, I wasn't making it up! Fair play to the bloke though for having the dogs..............................................he was bloody goo
