  1. Are the details on the chip current? Call the local councils to let the dog warden know, call any local kennels that take in strays and call the local vets. Inform the police and if you have any local railway, call network rail. Adds in local papers may be useful and facebook helps many people find their dogs really quickly. What breed is her dog? Call the microchip company to double check that the microchip has been registered, occasionally a chip isn't registered and no owner details are logged against the chip number, which could mean that her dog is picked up, scanned but the council or ve
  2. How old is the pup and do you have a dog that is a confidently dominant dog, it could well be that the pup is slowly asserting dominance through behaviour now so that when she is mature its an easy transition. Just like people a driven dog can try to dominate more chilled dogs and if they are clever they know how to do it without getting chewed up! If she's a naturally dominant dog things should work out ok but if she is starting to assert dominance because she feels she needs to, because the job isn't filled in her mind, but is not a natural leader, things could get emotional................
  3. Last hour before sunset for bass as well Try rigging a whole squid using two hooks one threaded through the body and set in the head, one for the tail, so it moves well. Pierce the eyes before casting and make sure the bottom hook is big enough so that the point is proud of the head. Take the skin off and "backbone" out first Bass have big mouths and a big appetite!
  4. I cant imagine ever giving my dog up, it would be like cutting my right arm off but if I did have to for some crazy reason I couldn't rehome her, there are some real cruel twisted people out there, I couldn't live with the thought that she was being beaten and scared s***less every day. To me my dogs are lifetime commitments, I have screwed up in the past with decisions I made over dogs and other animals and even many years later they still come back to haunt me sometimes, I will never repeat those mistakes again, my dog has a lifetime home with me. I had to PTS my dog once because he bit some
  5. Fantastic, must be very well balanced dogs and owner, the body language looks like the Hare sees itself as a family member. Great to see, top class
  6. No brainer.................. house of thieves............very privileged thieves at that, its ironic, the richer you are, the more likely you are to get away with stealing, go figure ........................ same with tax evasion, if your a one man band phone up the revenue and tell them how much tax you are prepared to pay............. good luck and let us know how it went
  7. Its a difficult one..........by having a set up that allows the trap to reach water an intent may be implied and a prosecution possible but what's more humane, a caught animal waiting for a visit from the pestie or drowning. I can imagine that if this did happen a prosecution would be inevitable, because the powers that be would be keen to stop drowning through the back door. Its all to do with intent, if part of the set up was designed to allow a caught animal to reach water, you would be on very dodgy ground I think as it could be argued that you planned the trapping with drowning in mind.
  8. All this my race is better than your race stuff is food for the ignorant. Am I better than a black man, an Asian man or a native American because of my skin colour, of course I'm not and anyone that thinks there skin colour in any way makes them a superior human being is a total fool. What makes a superior human being, height, hair colour, build. A disease could mutate tomorrow that wipes out the strongest first, the human race has survived due to its diversity. No man should be judged on any physical trait for which his genetics are responsible and he has no right to brag about them, he didn'
  9. Mill tec desert boots are cheap and more than up to the job. They are the budget cheap and cheerful of desert boots but for what you want they are absolutely fine and cost about £40. The other option for about £40 are Karrimor Skido KSB, These are good boots, don't let the make or price put you off. Comfy from the off and they really do become like a pair of slippers and exceptionally light weight. For summer depending on what your doing, you may be better off with a pair of walking/exploration shoes, you don't even know you've got them on.
  10. I used to think that a child should only be brought up by a man and woman but I know people who's mums left their blokes and fell in love with other women, so lived in that situation and they are very well rounded people, no problems at all. I am a firm believer in keeping things natural so lets look at it from that point of view, a child who's parents cant or wont look after them, does it really matter if two men, one man, one woman or two women look after that child if that child gets what they need to flourish. Other animals have crèche type systems to share the load of "childcare" so why c
  11. Reading through this and not really knowing much about the subject, two things spring to mind. I can see Irishmans standpoint about leaving well alone when in or with cub from a principle and sustainability point of view and can see why it being called "sport", upsets some as this will not be socially acceptable in the 21st century, does nothing for public relations and may well be used by some in the future. I can see others point of view about pest control as well in that at this time of the year, control is a necessary evil. One thing for sure though and without wanting to offend anyone, po
  12. Your training is obviously keeping you really fit but how much time do you have to bulk up, what proportion of time do you want to devote to it. To bulk up use free weights, 3 sets of each exercise, 10 reps on the first set, up the weight for the second set so that you can only do 5-7 reps and up the weight again for the final set so that you can only do 1 rep. Make sure you do wrist strengthening exercises, other wise you will struggle as the weight goes up. I used this once and it was passed on to me by the ex of a body builder and it worked really well but to be honest keeping it up is a pa
  13. And so shines a bright deed in a weary world, nice one Pete
  14. This type of thing can not be taken in isolation and everything needs considering, how old is the pup, has the pup ever lived in doors, what age did the pup leave her mum, how much time do you spend with the pup on a daily basis. Just like people, all dogs are different, some dogs are more sensitive or needy than others, some might be happy with a stroll out and then into the kennels for the day, but some may not. Sometimes having a "honeymoon" period with a new dog can cause long term problems, that's where for the first week or so you have a certain regieme to help the pup settle and then su
  15. The biggest terrorist threat to these ships will be from a small vessel when they are moored up. Its about time our navy clawed its way back up the leagues, we have the best blokes in all three forces, they deserve and need the best kit. We have been playing catch up on some of our kit for too long
  16. Two lines from the world of cinema: "This is the only country in the world were you can tell them the wars not over oil and they believe you." and "People don't question the reality of the world that they are presented with."
  17. No amount of money would ever get me to part with my dog, I really mean that, 1 million or 100 million, a dog isn't just a product in the way a car is. You pass it on, it could be treated like s**t, then sold on again and again. Loyalty to me is a two way street and they don't come any more loyal than a dog, That sounds crazy to some I am sure, but we are all different, my principles are worth more to me than cash and I am not selling out my dog, no way.
  18. Don't get your finger prints on it Seriously, how did he get the gun if he has no licence? Has it ever been used for something less than legal, if so and it all gets messy you don't want to be involved with it at all. Can you imagine.............. "how did you get rid of that gun", "Oakey helped me off load it". A bit paranoid maybe but if someone I met in a pub started asking me how to sell on an unlicenced gun, I would be looking for another table
  19. You've won the lottery haven't you, gonna live on a pacific island, fishing every day and with every need catered for by a host of beautiful Polynesian women and no internet access, its a tough life but as they say, someones gotta do it . Seriously good luck with whatever you are doing and enjoy it is much as you can, life that is
  20. I wouldn't expect any more from the Chinese, their medicine uses rhino horn, tiger penis and God knows what else, their soup dictates that countless thousands of sharks are finned and left to drown, its a totally different attitude in that part of the world.
  21. Why do that. To be totally honest I have always considered him over rated, half the population could sing better. Controversial, but I don't get the whole Beatles thing either, if it comes on its time to change stations. With the beatles, it was right place, right time, mediocre talent. Never did understand the hero worship of musicians, especially those that cant sing.
  22. Keepitcovert, when using catch poles the airway can be restricted but she tried to say that the dog had just over heated when it was obvious that the airway had become restricted. Also that dog was not dominant aggressive at all, she panicked, wanted the situation to be over as quickly as possible and dragged the dog out. I am not judging her at all, but the over heating excuse was not good, just be honest about it You have lumped staffies, EBT and pit bull types all in the same group and that is part of the problem with the media, so do they and that is just totally inacurate
  23. Neems, I cant quote at the moment as I am not on google chrome but to answer your question, the amendments to the DDA that came into law today are the ones about it extending into private properties and maximum custodial sentences going up including attacks on assistance dogs. I have to say that whilst watching the programme I did find myself cringing when the woman was dealing with the Akita, especially when she tried to say that the dog had just over heated when it was plain to see that the poles had restricted the airway, she would have been better off being truthful and when she was scream

    The Sea....

Its so easily done, I was out kayaking the other day and there were a few out, one bloke had his kid with him, couldn't tell the age of the boy but he was small and wearing no wetsuit or flotation device. The sea is cold at the moment, if that boy went in, things could get really bad, really quick and they must have been about half a mile out, I just couldn't believe it.
  25. The amendment to the dangerous dogs act came into force today, it could timed to coincide with this.
