We have just added a 5 month old Terrier X bitch to our existing 3 JRT X's. She is a rescue dog, with no house training whatsoever. We watch her behaviour for signs of needing to 'go outside' and then put her there and stay with her for the duration - the hard bit is that we have to watch her like a hawk ! Don't look away for a second ! One mistake = square one ! She has had 5 months to learn bad habits, and bad habits are hard to undo ! We always remember that it's not her fault - she does out of ignorance, not stupidity. She knows no better, so it's up to us to teach her ! Don'

All very true............but we love it......its human nature.......I take it, all the people being so judgemental.....would never watch films such as 'goodfellas', 'the godfather' etc etc, all based on fact, but we as humans love to watch.......we can't get enough of it!!..........he never claimed to be morally pure... ...but we all read the story, like we are doing now. I don't love the fact that a common criminal is given time on the national news and lauded as someone to look up to. And never showed any remorse, so he is not worthy of forgiveness

I don't so much hate Xmas, as when it begins ! This year I saw a shop with the Hallowe'en stuff, the Bonfire night stuff and the Xmas stuff in consequetive aisles ! There was a woman on our local news complaining that her kids Xmas had been 'ruined', because she took them to see Santa and he wasn't fat ! It's all just reached ludicrous proportions, and has been built up to be something that can't possibly materialise ! We put most of our attentions into the grandkids these days - kids are grown up and too old to be called 'kids' anyway! All in all semi -humbug !

Our 4 small dogs sleep in a large crate all night - no problems. They all trot in there quite happily at bedtime. We've also got a large one in the back of the car, but only leave them there as short a time as possible, and that's really only for safety, while I'm driving I think that as long as they're not used excessively, or as a punishment, they're fine, but owners should think about why they're using a crate and whether there is a better alternative. (For example, if the dog's chewing, give it a bone!) Just my opinion !
