You must be in the wife's good books. Very simple mate. No miscellaneous items at all? No bits of cammo gear that you don't need or wear? Got the usual sort of clothing, but only a couple of DPM sets, gloves and a hat. The secret to it all is.........I'm a tight ba5tard ! In the wife's good books ? Never !

Bloody foreign wasps ! They come over here..........

2 rifles and a spotting scope........how's that for keeping it simple ?

I think it was the same round as the old lee enfield rifles used, i have read accounts of pilots closing to 250 yards to shoot at enemy aircraft I believe 250 yards was the official distance where all the guns were trained on one point. Many pilots preferred much closer. I think Douglas Bader was one who had his guns synchronised at 50 yards and frequently got that close. They needed to because .303 at long range had little effect unless a pilot got hit or a vital engine part. Flying to within 50 yards of a heavily armed enemy fighter, hundreds of feet up ? Just when I thought it wasn't poss

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of a true pivotal point in history. Britain stood alone, back to the wall, staring into the face of a planned German invasion. All that stood in their way were "the few"......... Battle of Britain 75th anniversary flypast under way - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-33476099

Still Think There Was A Clear Choice Between Cameron & Milliband ??

Dont spend that extra £1.54 a week all at once! I can remember when you could have a night out, a packet of fags,a fish supper on the way home, two new suits, a pair of boots and a stone of monkey nuts......and still have change out of £1.54 !Those were t'days eh lad? We used to dream of having £1.54........ (That's more than I used to get for a 7 day paper round !) I used to do a six day evening paper round for 12/6 a week and 2/6 of that went on the shooting times every week. Those were the days a pint of Whitbred trophy was 1/1P and a pint of CPU in the rugby club was 11p. 3 pints of -

Can we drop the "living wage" bollox ! The Tories have consistently opposed the idea since 1999, when it was first formulated. If they supported the true living wage, it would be £9 an hour today, not in 5 years time. All Osborne has done is take the minimum wage and give it a new name. Re-brand an existing idea and claim all the credit..... -
Lady Chatterley, by any chance ? Watch yourself, son !

I like the idea of off-loading them back in Libya, then scuttling the ships !! They set sail, then immediately call for assistance (which is always given under maritime law). Once the 'passengers' have been taken off the vessel, my understanding is that the captain is then free to go on his way (?) - presumably to go back for the next lot ! Lose the ships and the problem will diminsh, or at least they'll have to start looking for plan B !
-
BH is right, of course. We can't realistically talk of sinking ships, but the scale of the problem can't be over-estimated. On the island of Lesbos..... (did I hear someone giggle ? Settle down !)..... On the island of Lesbos, they used to have a handful a week coming across from Turkey. Last month, they received an average of 200 a day ! Onto one tiny island, where the infrastructure is buckling under the strain...... There have been several incidents of illegals trying to simply storm their way into the Channel Tunnel. They are a serious threat to us, simply by their sheer weight o

On "Breakfast" this morning, it was said that 50 muslim terrorist plots have been discovered and averted already this year in the UK........

I agree, the only problem is that most of the burden would then fall on Italy and Greece. Surely it would be better if they were all stopped before landing on any European soil? Most of them aren't genuine asylum seekers anyway, they are economic migrants.Hungary is doing the sensible thing for its own people and country because the EU won't take a harder stance, no worse than the French trying to shovel them over the channel to us. I've just had a thought, why don't we crate up all our illegals and send them to Ireland?Under maritime law, the boats from North Africa can be returned to the por

Hello, the Ayatollah is home from a busy day at the rug shop ! Lol lol you been thinking of that one for a couple of weeks numpty , plenty of irish comedians but your not one of them . It's the way he tells 'em !

If any of the political or financial institutions pull the plug, they risk de-railing the whole gravy train.......none of them will want to be the one responsible for that ! A deal will be cobbled together so that both sides can claim victory - look for the lowest common denominator. They're politicians - its all a game to them, just numbers on a sheet of paper. They're not the ones only allowed to withdraw 40 quid a day from the bank, or had their kids school closed, or unable to access healthcare and they're certainly not the ones who won't get paid next month !
-
ECB and IMF have tried to beat Greece into submission - their education and health services are almost at a standstill - and there will undoubtedly be further crisis. 'The markets don't like it...', 'Angela Merkel will be concerned.....', 'Creditors will be meeting urgently.....'........ Not a mention that the Greeks have been asked , and they have answered........they have decided to sort this out on their own terms, and if that means leaving the EU and the Euro, then so be it. I think it's a shame that Yanis Varou-whatshisface has resigned (as politicians go, I quite liked him) but

Its fitting that the mother of democracy should show the true power of the people. Now watch the Euro-slaves move heaven and earth try to stop the whole house of cards come tumbling down!
-
The hardships their own government will now have to impose are not as hard as those the French and Germans....sorry I meant the ECB and IMF........ would have imposed. They have had the courage to take their fate into their own hands......and I, for one, respect them for that at least !
