Bet you had a Betamax ! Was watching videos "your passion" ? No it wasn't a betamax. It was actually one of the first VHS frontloaders. I was an aficionado of the video nasty. Driller Killer ? It would allow us absolute control over our borders - we could introduce any immigration policy we saw fit. We wouldn't have to take part in resettlement programmes, either. Just this morning, we opted out of 'resettling' migrants currently in Italy and Greece, but our position is very unpopular, and we are under constant pressure to 'take our share'. Is it just me, or does 'resettling' imply that they won't be going back.......?

A points-based immigration system is surely the only sensible way forward.... In simple terms, a job to come to, or the finances to support yourself, or 'no thanks, cheerio' ! (Working in cousin Abdul's kebab shop doesn't count !). Some other simple measures we should consider.......... We should deport all illegals without exception - no more retrospective asylum claims. One fair hearing, no appeals. No ECHR ! Anyone deported should lose all future rights to apply to come here. Anyone applying legally, but refused entry, should be barred from re-applying for 5 years.

Smoke and mirrors, yet again ! Cameron won't tell us what exactly he's trying to achieve. He just trots out the old 'renegotiating in Britain's interests', but what does that actually mean ? How, for instance, is he proposing to control our borders, while remaining a member of the EU, with it's open border policy ? What does he see as the end result of his 'renegotiations' ? The reasons for the vagueness and ambiguity is obvious........if he lets on what he hopes to achieve, we will be able to judge whether he has succeeded or not. Whole policy is a joke ! No, actually, the idea that there is a policy is laughable. We saw hordes of illegal immigrants (criminals), damaging property and vehicles (a crime) and threatening drivers (another crime) in order to gain illegal entry to the UK (another crime). The French police are nowhere to be seen, and say that we should play a bigger part in 'the solution', but won't elaborate further on what that 'solution' might be, or how it is to be achieved.
