    That really is ridiculous I'm as anti-imperialist as anyone but the Falklands have nothing to do with imperialism, they were unihabited before the British settlers arrived and they've been the sole inhabitants since. They even had a referendum recently asking whether they wanted to stay under British rule, 99.8% voted Yes. If you respect democracy and the right to self determination you have to accept the Falklands are British.     To me, it means going for a wander, a speculative walkabout. You may have quarry in mind, you may just be walking the dog or you may have no particular purpose in mind...... "I'm off out for a mooch about love, see what's what........"

    If you're motorway driving, why is 70 mph NOT fast enough ? The stopping distance at that speed is close on 100 metres, on a dry road ! Given that I can seldlom remember seeing cars that far apart, why is there this constant call to increase speed limits ? Can you imagine those same cars at 100mph, or more, just a few metres apart ? Carnage !!

    Driving is one of those things that exposes the gulf between your ambitions and your capabilities........ I have always found it extraordinary that I could pass my test at 17, and I am immediately given a license that's valid until I'm an old man ! Then, while the ink on my new license is wet, I can get into my car and drive unsupervised at 70 mph on a motorway, with no additional training.     Correct. My question (that dymented answered) was, does the detector in the car have to see the camera van to detect the laser? Surely it works both ways ?

    The fact that the detector is aimed at the number plate means it can't possibly detect you unless there is a clear line of sight.....?
